The book is composed of brief, but detailed, vignettes of influential Florida women. Most overcame poverty, racism and illness to do great things, all in the name of helping their fellow man. It's inspiring to read, and give a unique picture of the early days of Florida. I recommend for anyone who is interested in a general overveiw of the role women played in the start of the Sunshine State.
