It was strange that the fabulously wealthy Captain Moreton, hero of the Napoleonic Wars should find himself proposing to the first eligible female he met on his return to England. After all, he had vowed to let no woman touch his heart after his first love's betrayal. Still Lady Catherine Richland persuaded the cynical captain to break that vow--until he learned that she, too, had deceived him. Revenge seemed sweet, until the captain discovered even greater treachery--one man, prepared to risk all to see the captain and his beautiful wife stripped of honor.
