Great designs, but better material needed for making the cards,

I agree with all the glowing evaluations here of the design of this Tarot deck. The problem I had when I bought a MG deck was that shuffling the cards caused the layers of paper out of which the cards were made to start peeling apart at the upper corners. No other Tarot deck I've ever used has had this problem. I would *love* to buy another MG deck if the manufacturer would simply use better material for making the actual physical cards!

A timeless classic you MUST see in person!,

I couldn't decide between this deck or Robin Wood....well....
I got the Robin Wood first and was soooo disappointed. Everyone is super happy, dimpled and "too" pretty. The colours seem just washed out and weak, and some of the cards look downright silly and cheesy.7 of Wands spring to mind. The Wheel of Fortune is the worst I have seen in any deck, it's so bad it is hard to look at. I had high hopes, but when I got it in my hands, wow what a let down. Then I got the Morgan-Greer. WOW. From the minute I took it out I was in love and enraptured. The saturated colours, no borders and unusual classic artwork drew me into what seems a world of it's very own. When I take out this deck (just like Tarot of the Old Path) it is as if I am entering and being enveloped in a different world. The pictures seem simple, yet there is so much going on, much symbolism to find hidden. Laying the cards out side by side is powerful. A story naturally unfolds and blends one into another. And one thing I discovered a few days ago was how different the cards look in darker light. The use of colours and richness of them have a unique power in this deck, very mystical. I myself was worried that the star backs which recieve so many complaints were going to be a drawback, but upon seeing them I loved those as well. Random hand-drawn stars are much more enticing than just perfect ones. The only thing I can think of to improve the deck would be a different darker colour for the back. A rich purple or forest green. These cards must be seen in person too get the full impact of the deep, evocative colours and intense gorgeous artwork. This deck has been around 28 years for a reason....it's a classic that speaks to the inner, quiet center of a person and captures you in it's magic.

This is my 5th set of cards and my favorite when doing readings. Its very easy to understand you dont have to focus on the pictures a long time to try to understand its meanings. The colors are VERY nice. It has an old look to it and the cards are beautiful. This deck is good for beginners or the advanced. This is the deck I would recommend to everyone.

It's difficult to reccommend a tarot deck because everyone is different, and has their own preferences. However, I have 3 other tarot decks, and this one, I am drawn to the most when I do readings. For me, a certain powerful energy is released when I use the deck. The colours on the cards are dark, and not as bright as the Rider-Waite deck. That did take some time to get used to. The book that comes with the deck is a good resource, but is skimpy on some interpretations on the readings. The back of the cards are blue, with white stars. In all, it's an excellent deck, at least in my opinion. If you bought it, I don't feel you would be disappointed.

My first deck...,

I bought this deck as my first beginners one because I didn't like the artwork of some of the other beginner deecks (Raider Waite, Robin Wood). The backs of the cards are bright blue with white stars. This deck has completely illustrated minor arcana cards with objects and people (besides just the ten pentacles or the three swords) so you can learn the stories of these cards. This helps when it comes to committing them to memory. Unlike the Raider Waite deck, the illustrated minor arcana are not as extremely detailed, I liked this because it wasn't distracting and I didn't feel overwhelmed with too much side information about each card. I really like this deck because of the bold lines and colors to the illustrations. It suits my personality perfectly!

The best tarot deck,

This is the only deck I actually use. It is based on the symbology of the Rider Waite deck (the standard of 20th century tarot), but it is easier to read. The pictures are wonderful. I recommend it very highly

This is an excellent book and deck "package". The illustrations on this deck are beautifully done, making this my deck of choice. It is very difficult to recommend a Tarot deck, since that choice is subjective, but if one could, this would be the one I would recommend.
