Good first book,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Morgue (Paperback)
Somewhat slow going at the start -- especially if you are not into local politics. Once the action starts, though, it's hard to put down. The ending caught me completely off guard. Hopefully this author will be picked up by a more prominent publisher -- the type set is very distracting to the reader. Even so, I would gladly read his next book.

A very exciting story! I was on edge all the way through. The ending was great. I only hope this kind of thing doesn't really happen. I'm looking forward to reading Mr. Griffin's next book.

The Morgue,
By Doug Burrows (Milford, NH) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Morgue (Paperback)
Dennis Griffin catches your mind in the first page and won't let go till the twisted end. Many nights were shortened because you can't put this book down! This story takes you through the investigation of a coroner out of control and the political chicanery and cover-up to stop the inquiry and cut short justice. A tale of blatant disregard of law and the darker side of human character when ambition, perversion, and greed are laid before some. A excellently woven tale.

Griffin's Storyline is excellent.,
This review is from: The Morgue (Paperback)
I enjoyed Griffin's book immensely. The story was gripping and self-propelling which made for a very smooth and entertaining read. I enjoyed the twists and turns through the journey from initial investigation to justice. Mr. Griffin's writing style is direct and unencumbered; yet contains enough descriptive prose to give the reader a good picture of the events presented. For anyone looking for an unusual and suspenseful story you must read "The Morgue".

Outstanding ... An "up-all-night" read!,

This review is from: The Morgue (Paperback)
A wonderful way to spend an evening, night, wee small hours and next morning! I had to finish it before I put it down. The ending was shocking and totally unexpected. I predict Mr. Griffin will go far and hopefully we haven't seen the last of him or of his main character, John Grant.

Dennis Griffin once again weaves a spellbinding story of intrigue, corruption and nefarious schemes. The investigator
John Grant is immediately likeable and following his search is what mysteries are all about. I highly recommend this book.

Dennis N. Griffin has done a wonderful job with his first book, The Morgue. He brings the characters to life and you feel you are with John Grant, as he investigates crime and corruption in the Medical Examiner's office. The story is full of suspense and intrigue. I look forward to reading more of Grant's investigative skills through the writing of Mr. Griffin.

Interesting read,

This review is from: The Morgue (Paperback)
The basic story line of THE MORGUE is fascinating in itself. The author did an excellent job developing the characters so that you had a clear picture in your mind of how each looked and acted. It was certainly one you didn't want to put down because you HAD to find out what happened next. This isn't the type of book I am typically attracted to but I am glad I read it.

Suspenseful & Gripping,
This review is from: The Morgue (Paperback)
Dennis Griffin tells a believable story about THE MORGUE. He takes you inside this sensitive place and you can feel the workings of the Medical Examiner and staff. This tale opens your eyes to crimes committed behind closed doors. John Grant peels the top back revealing methods that are not ethical in this alledged professional place and ferrets out the truth of what occurred. GRANT is methodical and hurdles over the roadblocks placed before him. His probative ways as a State Investigator is impressing. It is definitely a page turner. I read many books and I couldn't put this one down. I'm looking forward to Mr. Griffen's next offering. I enjoyed this book immensely.
