5.0 out of 5 stars A New Morning, Changing Weather
Wow, The (International) Noise Conspiracy, these guys are amazing, how can I describe the energy coming from this cd. From the first note that came from the speakers, I knew this was something different. I have listened to their older stuff and this is something completely different. Their first full-length First Conspiracy is more of just cool beats with catchy lyrics,...

I hate to criticize an album by making reference to another, but after listening to INC I find myself drawing comparisons to The Refused(inevitably), a band which is probably my favorite of all time(reading Marx's Capital and then having "New Noise" or "Deadly Rhythm" in your ear makes you want to riot, BTW). In my opinion the INC lacks a certain bite that the Refused...

Wow, The (International) Noise Conspiracy, these guys are amazing, how can I describe the energy coming from this cd. From the first note that came from the speakers, I knew this was something different. I have listened to their older stuff and this is something completely different. Their first full-length First Conspiracy is more of just cool beats with catchy lyrics, while Survival Sickness, their second, is harder, faster riffs. Their newest project, A New Morning ,Changing Weather is their best stuff yet. Combine jazzy indie music, the best studio work I've seen in a long time, meaningful lyrics(mainly on the evils of capitalism), GREAT vocals(Dennis is a madman with the mic), and some of the most talented songwriters in the world, and you get A New Morning, Changing Weather.
::Song Review::
1.Northwest Passage
- (10) Great Song, talks of the "Northwest Passage" we're all trying to find, the way to happiness

2.Up For Sale
- (9) This song is about Capitalism and how we are all "Up For Sale" Only reason for rating it 9 is it gets rather repetitive at the end

3.Bigger Cages, Longer Chains
- (10)In the top three. Catchiest song on the album. Many different interesting parts. Listen to it up at the music sampler.

4.Breakout 2001
- (10) Great Chorus. About how we can break away from the capitalist rulers in our world

5. A Body Treatise
- (9) Starts slow, picks up to be a great song

6.Born into a Mess
- (10) Great music by every part in the band. Many different parts also

7. New Empire Blues
- (10)Three way tie for the best song on the album. Great guitar riffs, extremely well though out song. Guest saxophone parts.

8.Capitalism Stole My Virginity
- (10) You can guess what this song is about. Amazing vocals on Dennis' part. Keyboards play a great part in this song.

9. Last Century Promise
- (9) Good song, except for the guitar screeching that is in the background the whole time

10. Dead Language of Love
- (9) Good song, great vocals.

11. A New Morning, Changing Weather
- (10) Title Song, and a great one! This song is in the three way tie also, but I would probably say this is the best on the album. Best vocal on the cd, best guitar, best keyboards, best drums. Everything is moving too fast for life on this track. Great chorus, the keyboard outro is the best I've ever heard on any cd ever.

All in all, this is the best cd I own, and I doubt it will ever be less than that, that is unless, of course, TINC comes out with a new full length, which,I'm sure will be nothing less than phenomenal. They will be at Warped Tour 2004, so if your getting tickets make sure you go to these guys because they put on the best live show I've ever seen.

these days its the hives, the vines, the strokes, etc. that are suposidly starting up the whole indie rock, and garage punk, but the international noise conspiracy was before them and are not getting as much credit for this new wave of music becoming popular. so i am giving this cd5 stars and i hope people dont overlook the bands that are older than 15 minutes.

4.0 out of 5 stars A right to be treated equal, November 5, 2001

This is probably one of the better cd's I have bought in the past few months. And with the invention of the mp3 it does take a lot for me to buy a cd. If you're a fan of Refused "The Shape Of Punk To Come" then you'll probably like it. Not quite as good as "Survival Sickness" but it has its moments. You can tell it comes from a lot more influences than previous INC albums. I could hear some 80's and 70's in there. If you are new to INC I would still start off with "Survival Sickness" but this should at least be in your collection a little bit down the road.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not your average stagnant punk rock, November 15, 2001

I definately detect a growth in musical approach here, something that not all bands, especially punk bands, can achieve. I also detect a bit of X-Ray-Spex here as well, especially on Bigger Chains, Longer Cages. I really don't feel like going on and on about how great this album is so I'll just finish off with with the typical recommendation that you buy this album!

In my opinion the INC lacks a certain bite that the Refused had, and some may say that this is natural and that Dennis is "evolving" blah blah blah...but with a terribly thought out song title(capitalism stole my virginity, WTF?)and a toned down sound, i found myself disappointed with the album...maybe in a couple years when i start to chill out i'll be able to enjoy this, but right now there definitely seems to be something lacking...pick it up and judge for yourself though. later

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Record, April 14, 2003

This is literally the best CD I have ever listened to. Every song is enjoyable, and I'd consider over half the songs hits.
In addition to the excellant sound the lyrical content is incomparable, some of their songs read like political manifestos.
Perfect!

5.0 out of 5 stars Go Team Swede Punk, March 29, 2004

I first fell into Refused (singer Dennis's previous band) and later realized the voice from hearing "Capitalism Stole My Virginity". Not to compare these two bands, as they have very different sounds, but there are similarities, mainly the strong anti-capitalist standing. Other than that, the (I)NC are a mixture of punk, garage, and jazz that is breathtaking. My favorites on this cd are "Breakout 2001," "Capitalism Stole My Virginity," "Dead Language of Love," and "New Morning, Changing Weather." I can't wait to see these guys (and girl) live because the record has so much energy the concert hall might blow up. Highly recommended for the urges inside yourself to break and burn things

4.0 out of 5 stars No Band Can Ever Come Close to Craft but Replicate, December 13, 2001
By
This review is from: New Morning Changing Weather (Audio CD)
Devastated by the inevitable event, it took a prescription of time to register why in the hell did the knights of Punk/Thrash, Refused, disperse in their own separate ways. When your favorite --no forget that -- when the embodiment of your influence has revolved around minstrels who unexpectedly spilt up, fists collide, a flame of grievance rains, and a palpable lust to burn the world fuses. Why, Refused, why! Vocally uprising against capitalism, Refused funded their original sounds in accordance with songs like "New Noise" and "Hook, Line, and Sinker." Each one remaining as the coup of influential Punk. When news that frontman, Dennis Lyxzen was furthering his invigoration legacy, a glimmer of hope flickered. Their last collective full-length, "The Shape of Punk to Come," was only a mere harbinger of what Lyxzen had rooted in his preceding cause. Currently, he expresses himself "in loud and fashionable ways." Rounded into a newer, gutsier squad of radicals, The International Noise Conspiracy, Lyxzen's anti-capitalism crusade is portentous to those who attempt to crush his pure genius.

Two years back, "Survival Sickness," marked all the dire elements to differentiate a Punk arena so inundated with copycats and imitators. Even today, a number of bands sound ridiculously identical. With annoyance encroaching my eardrums, repetitive, unskilled bands should be scheduled for extermination. Steering hard from commercialism, The International Noise Conspiracy consigns an escape from tedious, musical boredom. Their latest political-stabbing, "A New Morning Changing Weather" juts a philosophical intellect while continuing energized pulsations.

Below are the actual words of Lyxzen, revealing a raw glimpse of his world.

". . .and I saw the cops beating kids up, I saw the cops shooting kids my own age with live bullets. Not against a political party or a corporation, or something like that, but against the whole economical system, against the whole ideological ID."

This statement dissipates any cloud on why Lyxzen is repulsed by authority. Armed with a tambourine, a saxophone, an organ, and the regulars found in a band, The International Noise Conspiracy throws a crafty mantra of sashaying beats. Their objective is to unite individualism and glean resistance. Intermingling the sounds from the decade of change, "A New Morning, Changing Weather," refines every area the band excelled at. Back are the reverberating musical echoes, the jazzy saxophones, and a conjure of untainted guitar riffs. Straying from Metal heaviness and unafraid to tweak pioneering sounds, the eleven tracks aren't hesitant on the experimental side. Spurting with a vocal salvo of raspy outbursts, piercing screeches, and not to mention a formula outmatching any crescendo with inventive effects, the CD is a great moment of upheaval, strain, and revolution. Its particular music category has triumphed into ways that no band can ever come close to craft but replicate.

With never-ending, cogent messages creeping thicker with each resilient, deliberate, and searching track, the lattice that The International Noise Conspiracy simulates is just so damn compelling. It really hits the home, utterly reminiscent of Refused. All the emotional impact is constant. Subsequent to my personal valuation of the all Lyxzen's work, I can't help but brood over on how much we merit our lives to be, why we must keep and abuse the power of free speech and become something more than just an average kid, a teen, an adult. We should be something greater than a gorilla with an I.Q. capable of reasoning. Ergo, our single voices must be rebelliousness against those who flout the original American dream, "the pursuit of happiness." All the while, the human mind must be challenged, exercised, and kept running -- never barren, pointless, or blind. I embrace my own views and advocate The International Noise Conspiracy's vehemently. Pick this up and immerse yourself into a different political standpoint. Agree or not, you'll have to bring it in high regard.

I liked refused a lot. What made them so unique was their ability to let their non-hardcore influences shine through within the context of some seriously heavy music. Take out the hardcore and you have the International Noise Conspiracy, just another garage band. (exept this one happens to be marxist) Have their once intellegent and meaningless lyrics dissolved into something as mindless as "capitalism stole my virginity"? A bit obvious, don't you think. Still, 3 stars for that songs awesome hook and a decent live show.

Along with bands like The White Stripes, The Supersuckers, The Unband and The Hives, The (International) Noise Conspiracy are the rare few who still know how to make a real rock record. Bravo!!!
