Here's a candidate for cloning, if you ever saw one. A pre-eminent editor that can write stories well enough to average 3.70 needs a double to do some more writing work. Given all the magazine and book production it did take 30 years or so to come up with enough to cull this selection from, but still, it is very impressive. I think I like it even more reading it for the second time. Two 4.5's in ten is a high strike rate.

A couple will seem a bit old-fashioned American to some, perhaps. All in all, really good though.
