5.0 out of 5 stars A "REAL" Heartwarmer..., October 27, 2001
By
This review is from: Morning Glory Mother (Hardcover)
Our heroine (Alison) is a single mother of two teenaged kids; she could be anyone; even next door to YOU! She's frazzled and doing her best, but it just never seems to be enough. Her neighbor is the ultimate Mother in Alison's eyes. Just before Mother's Day, she hears her kids discussing something and (justly) feels unloved and ignored. She's runs away from home on Mother's Day weekend. Her flight is humorous and just a little scary, but it proved that love does surround her and she's pretty GREAT after all! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will be sending one to MY Mother, with THANKS!

5.0 out of 5 stars Been There...., April 29, 2001

As a mother of two I completely understand where Alison is coming from. I've wished to run away at times too. This is a light, cheery, truthful story. Can easily be read in one sitting but the feeling behind it stays for a long time. Go on and call your Mom and say "I love you". Been there, done that....is there a T-Shirt? I highly recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect gift for mother's day!, May 12, 2006

Love it, love it, love it! Carol Lynn Pearson hits the motherhood/guilt thing right on! What a delightful, laugh out-loud book. I love how the book shows that even the "perfect mother" thinks Alison (the guilt-ridden mother)has it all together. As mothers, we always think every other mother has it right. This book shows perfectly how we're all alike in this role of parenting. Read it and pass it around the neighborhood of mothers who feel guilty. You'll gain some insight and decide that perhaps you're not doing as badly as you thought! Enjoy!
