I was so inspired by this story of love, courage and steadfastness which came shining through the struggle of Emme and Phil and their family. Clinical Depression is such an insidious, potentially life threatening illness and Emme and Phils' courageous and honest willingness to share their story can help and encourage many millions of couples and families. It is an astonishingly candid and clear description of the suffering felt by both people when depression is present in a relationship. Talk about a book you can't put down... I read it in five hours! Not only is it a great love story, it's a manual on how to support someone with depression and see the light at the end of the tunnel, when they can't even imagine it. If you know someone, live with someone, or love someone suffering with depression you MUST read this book.

But even if depression hasn't touched your life... READ THIS BOOK. You will never look at a bad day the same way. The next time you tell someone that you're feeling depressed, pick up this book and count your blessings.

Morning Has Broken is a book about how depression enters one's life and holds it, along with those we love, hostage. In Phil Aronson's terrifying ordeal, no one was closer to his agonizing, impossible depression than his wife Emme. Phil's story needs to be told because the word must get out that depression, as devastating an experience as it may be, is ultimately no match for the human spirit. Emme's story needs to be told because depression isn't limited to chemicals and individuals; it infects loved ones as well. Together their story is a complete story of surviving depression, one that deals honestly and courageously with the myriad challenges imposed on a family.

Together Phil and Emme have journeyed to dark places that unfortunately others must traverse, but as Phil eloquently states, "Our goal is to reassure readers...that they are not alone, or crazy, or without hope..." This is a book not only of a triumph over depression, but a triumph of love.

i could not put this book down! i was so interested and captured by their experiences with life, with depression, with each other and the effects on their friends and family. the way it was written was so powerful and intriguing that i wanted to learn more and more about the debilitating illness of depression. i was captivated by the rawness of their feelings and how well these feelings were expressed on the pages of this book to be shared by the world. i hope that their experiences can be shared by all around the world as i feel it can be of such value to those suffering with depression.
