I bought 18 books to give out as gifts to my children's public school teachers, CCD teachers, preschool teachers, the mothers of the precious children I babysit, my friends that are teachers and friends that home school their children. Sue O'Carroll Drake takes her teaching experiences (good and scary) mixes it with her home life and spiritual expertise and then adds a lot of humor! Blending all that together makes a wonderful book sure to please anyone! It's a book that tells the truth about the mishaps in life with a good message to get you thinking. I loved the recommended bible reading, verse du jour and prayer to go along with each unique story. With funny stories like "Queen of Something","The Whole Package" and "Walk Like Jesus" (to name a few of my favorites)-I couldn't put this book down and got so excited and giggly talking about these shocking, ridiculous and surreal episodes with my friends. I found this devotional encouraging, funny and filled with biblical insight. The vignettes of the author's experiences in the classroom are very similar to the experiences I have working with middle schoolers in youth ministry. Unlike many devotionals, Ms. Drake is not afraid to "be real" about what goes on in today's youth culture. Her straight talk and humor is paired with relevant scripture and practical application. In a word: refreshing.

This is an inspiring devotional book, often hilarious in personal predicaments. Encouraging and helpful, it is real and yet points to a better way with Christ. Well worth the purchase. Recommend.

I am a teacher and it is so great to read the experiences and situations that Ms. Drake describes. We all have had them, but now she has put them into a devotional that relates these situations to the most important Teacher--our Lord and Savior. Great job, Ms. Drake. I needed something like this.

This devotional is not only for teachers but can be used by anyone. The vignettes are applicable to all of us and the readings and prayers are so appropriate. Each day's reading is short enough that most anyone can fit them into their hectic daily schedule---even teachers. I am a retired teacher, and besides using it myself, I intend to send it to all the teachers I know(I do know some young ones,too!!).
I have only read about 30 days (I actually WANTED to read more than one a day), and I am looking forward to the rest.
