Editorial Reviews

This video documentary provides an intimate look at Katharina von Bora, former nun, 16th Century entrepreneur and wife of Martin Luther, father of the Protestant Reformation. It is an in-depth look at the life of the woman who helped Luther change the course of history. We learn how she coped with incredible demands and survived the continual onslaught of unpredictable developments. We see how she became a capable manager carrying major responsibilities with and for her famous husband.

Narrated by Jutta F. Anderson and featuring the insights of noted Katharina experts Dr. Kirsi Stjerna, Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and German theologian Dr. Martin Treu, Curator of the Luther Museum in Wittenberg, the Morning Star of Wittenberg sheds light on this often overlooked partner in the Reformation.

4.0 out of 5 stars Morning Star of Wittenberg, January 14, 2009

Well done, informative and varied. Not the "talking head" style too much.
German accents were a bit hard to understand at times, so you really need to listen & not be distracted by other things going on around you. Learned a lot about Martin Luther's wife!
