First off, I have to say that I was lucky enough to get an ARC copy of Morning Sunshine! I was so lucky to get it and read it as fast as I could, it was a great read.
For those of you who don't know who Robin Meade is (that seems impossible, but you never know) she's the host for Headline news in the morning 6-10am. She does such a fantastic job. Her personality is warm and bubbly, and a great way to start off the day.
This is such a great read. This is for anyone who needs a little boost of confidence, or needs to build theirs up, like me. Robin has a very unique writing style. It honestly felt like she was talking to me. Like, two people chatting. Most writers would kill to have such a writing style, and for Robin it comes naturally. The reader can't help but to be drawn in and made to feel comfortable and want to read it all in one sitting.
To start off, Robin tells us somethings that happened in her life and some of them are pretty personal and how she was taught how to turn negative things into something positive. We learn that she isn't perfect, even if we all think so. She tells us of her quirks and fears, and how they made her stronger. Not only does she do this, but she tell us how it worked for her, abut also how it could work for us too. It would have been easy for her to just tell us what she did, and not give examples of how she needs these strategies but how Robin also tell us what happened to her in life where she needed the strategies. She didn't have to do that. She could have kept up the "perfect" image of what we have of her, and not tell us she's imperfect. She tells us that she's imperfect, and as a reader, we feel that she's trusting us with what she was going through in her life. I have to admit that I was laughing when she talked about Crystal. *LOL* If you want to find out who Crystal is, you really need to get the book. Its' a hoot!
The book is step up where Robin tells us what happened to her, and ways to deal with her struggles. After each part, she has, "What I've Learned" which is what she learned from something, then "Confidence Booster" ways for us, the reader to boost our confidence, and make us feel better about us. She also has "The Takeaway" something we can takeaway or something we can learn. Then my favorite Robin's Ramblings" Just her thoughts on things. There was one of the "Robin's Ramblings" that really hit home with me, and I plan to use that pretty much everyday.
This really was a powerful read for me. Somethings I plan to do what she says that helped her. If you need a boost of confidence or have to deal with negative thoughts or anything, you really need to get a copy of this book. I'll tell you how good it is. I have a ARC copy of the book, when it comes out for sale, I plan to get a hardback version of it. It was such a great read!! I highly suggest it. If you buy the book, you won't be sorry.
If you're a fan of Robin Meade, then you need this book. This is sweet and charming read, just like she comes across on Headline News.
I hope it comes out in an audiobook and Robin reads it. I know I'd get a copy of it.
