5.0 out of 5 stars Really really good!
First of all, I should say that I had no idea who the author was before I picked up the book, which I think gave me a whole new perspective on her story.

The author was absolutely adorable. She's someone you'd actually want to know in real life because you can't help but like her. She reminds me of Heidi Klum - you want to hate her because she's so perfect,...

3.0 out of 5 stars Love the book, but printing sorry!
I'm not through reading, but am enjoying what I have read.
Just disappointed in the quality of the the printing. There was ink from the printer smeared on several pages!
I bet Robin would not be happy if she saw it!!

This review is from: Morning Sunshine!: How to Radiate Confidence and Feel It Too (Hardcover)
First of all, I should say that I had no idea who the author was before I picked up the book, which I think gave me a whole new perspective on her story.

The author was absolutely adorable. She's someone you'd actually want to know in real life because you can't help but like her. She reminds me of Heidi Klum - you want to hate her because she's so perfect, but you just can't because she's so darn nice!

I especially liked that the author was not just another child of rich parents with connections and actually had to work for her success. It was also refreshing to know that the author had actually written the book instead of getting a ghostwriter like so many celebrities. Kudos!

This has a nice, feel good, friendly vibe to it that makes you feel as if you're sitting listening to one of your girlfriends. The chapters are a nice length, but not too brief. There is a lot of useful information from someone who has truly been there and done that and can genuinely speak from experience. Definitely recommended for anyone looking for an upbeat, positive read!

I watch Robin Meade on HLN's Morning Express and love her personality. Just because you can read a teleprompter...doesn't necessarily mean you can write and connect with your audience through the written word. Not only does Robin do that, she pulled me in to deep that I was up until 4am reading...it is that enjoyable. It felt like Robin was speaking directly to me....telling me about how her first day at HLN was 9/11/2001...about her singing abilities....about how she's the middle child and how that has shaped her into who she is today....but my favorite part is hearing all that she has learned in her lifetime...in typical Robin Meade style. What a pleasure.

I loved it...highly recommend!!! Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!!!, August 30, 2009
This review is from: Morning Sunshine!: How to Radiate Confidence and Feel It Too (Hardcover)
First off, I have to say that I was lucky enough to get an ARC copy of Morning Sunshine! I was so lucky to get it and read it as fast as I could, it was a great read.

For those of you who don't know who Robin Meade is (that seems impossible, but you never know) she's the host for Headline news in the morning 6-10am. She does such a fantastic job. Her personality is warm and bubbly, and a great way to start off the day.

This is such a great read. This is for anyone who needs a little boost of confidence, or needs to build theirs up, like me. Robin has a very unique writing style. It honestly felt like she was talking to me. Like, two people chatting. Most writers would kill to have such a writing style, and for Robin it comes naturally. The reader can't help but to be drawn in and made to feel comfortable and want to read it all in one sitting.

To start off, Robin tells us somethings that happened in her life and some of them are pretty personal and how she was taught how to turn negative things into something positive. We learn that she isn't perfect, even if we all think so. She tells us of her quirks and fears, and how they made her stronger. Not only does she do this, but she tell us how it worked for her, abut also how it could work for us too. It would have been easy for her to just tell us what she did, and not give examples of how she needs these strategies but how Robin also tell us what happened to her in life where she needed the strategies. She didn't have to do that. She could have kept up the "perfect" image of what we have of her, and not tell us she's imperfect. She tells us that she's imperfect, and as a reader, we feel that she's trusting us with what she was going through in her life. I have to admit that I was laughing when she talked about Crystal. *LOL* If you want to find out who Crystal is, you really need to get the book. Its' a hoot!

The book is step up where Robin tells us what happened to her, and ways to deal with her struggles. After each part, she has, "What I've Learned" which is what she learned from something, then "Confidence Booster" ways for us, the reader to boost our confidence, and make us feel better about us. She also has "The Takeaway" something we can takeaway or something we can learn. Then my favorite Robin's Ramblings" Just her thoughts on things. There was one of the "Robin's Ramblings" that really hit home with me, and I plan to use that pretty much everyday.

This really was a powerful read for me. Somethings I plan to do what she says that helped her. If you need a boost of confidence or have to deal with negative thoughts or anything, you really need to get a copy of this book. I'll tell you how good it is. I have a ARC copy of the book, when it comes out for sale, I plan to get a hardback version of it. It was such a great read!! I highly suggest it. If you buy the book, you won't be sorry.

If you're a fan of Robin Meade, then you need this book. This is sweet and charming read, just like she comes across on Headline News.

I hope it comes out in an audiobook and Robin reads it. I know I'd get a copy of it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Amazing!, September 8, 2009
This review is from: Morning Sunshine!: How to Radiate Confidence and Feel It Too (Hardcover)
Having been a fan of Robin Meade for 4 years now, I knew I had to have this book when she first mentioned it in her newsletter many months ago. I wouldn't consider myself much of a reader. Every book I've ever picked up has never kept my attention for more than 4 or 5 chapters. I don't even remember the title of the last book I read, no less one that I've actually finished. I received "Morning Sunshine!" on Friday, August 28. Cover to cover, I spent all of Saturday reading it. I don't think I got out of bed more than once that day!

Robin Meade takes you on an incredible journey through her life. And let me tell you, this ride is one wild roller coaster of emotion! Robin takes you back to the moment of her first "breathing problem" while anchoring a weekend newscast in Chicago, a problem she would later find out were anxiety attacks. Embarrassed by her general practitioner's diagnosis, Robin hid her problems for two years. Robin did whatever was asked of her. She held people's thoughts and opinions higher than her own opinion of herself. Wanting to be loved and admired by everyone around her, wanting to be perfect, lead to what Robin estimates to be 30 anxiety attacks over those two years. It wasn't until her husband arranged a meeting with his chiropractor, Dr. Amelia Case, who would help Robin to regain her confidence and self-esteem. And that's when Robin would learn, with the help of Dr. Case, to find her true self.

All throughout the book, Robin includes what she has learned through her experiences and tips to overcome those problems. Robin also shares other stories through her life from when she was a toddler all the way up to when she met her husband, Tim. One story in particular where she talks about finding who her true friends were as a teenager in high school very nearly brought tears to my eyes.

Recently I've won signed photos and a signed bookmark from Robin from recent contests (remember the "Morning Express Challenge"? I won it 3 times!). I've framed the first signed photo that I won on November 18 of last year on my dresser. A few times as I was reading through the book, I would glance up at the photo and the bookmark and think to myself, "Is this really how Robin used to be? Is this the same person that signed this?" It was a surprise to me to read about the anxiety attacks and self-esteem issues since I've only known the high-energy, candid, humorous - and in general, happy - news anchor that we all know today. Through reading "Morning Sunshine!", you'll see how Robin was able to make the 180 degree turn. It's a great read for anyone looking for a boost of confidence!

If your a true Robin Meade fan, why are you reading this review? Buy her book! Now! It's worth every penny and maybe a few more. Even if you don't know who Robin Meade is (you can catch her every weekday on HLN's "Morning Express with Robin Meade" between 6 to 10am ET), I highly recommend picking up this book! The self-confidence tips alone are definitely worth reading, even if you feel you don't need them! Robin will show you things about yourself that you may not have seen.

I've always loved hearing Robin's laugh. After reading this book, I definitely appreciate that laugh even more!

5.0 out of 5 stars Morning Sunshine- really great book - very enjoyable, September 14, 2009
This review is from: Morning Sunshine!: How to Radiate Confidence and Feel It Too (Hardcover)
I was able to read and review Robin Meade's new book- Morning Sunshine and I enjoyed it very much.

My Review:
Robin Meade shares her incredible journey about her life and career with her readers. She explains how she came up with the title "Morning Sunshine", something that her preacher father would say every morning growing up. She explains why she says it to her viewers every morning.

There are lots of funny stories and experiences , lots of fears, anxieties and embarassing moments that keep you waiting to see what she will say next. There are also many good feelings that make you say awww!

Alot of the stories and things that Robin reveals about herself I can totally agree with and say uh huh I have done that. The road rager, rose colored glasses, and frenemies thats me, I can relate.

I really like so much about this book, I really like the six ways to get people to like you. Love all the nuggets, that Robin has throughout the book- what I've learned, confidence boosters, the takeaway and Robin's ramblings.

Great book that I can take pointers and tips from: I especially like the 8 tips for being a confident spouse, stop judging yourself and be yourself. Be grateful for your gifts and your passion is your confidence are great chapters in the book that make you think.

This book is enjoyable, easy to read and a confidence builder.

Well, I could not put this book down! I read it over a weekend determined to finish it before Monday morning. Robin is such a shining light to anyone who watches her in the morning everyday on the news show! I used to watch her here in Chicago doing the local news and when she moved to HLN - I was so happy for her!!! This book came to me during the right time in my professional life.. I can relate to her ramblings and appreciate her advice. I have dog-eared several pages and will re-read this book very soon.
Thanks Robin for sharing your story; we miss ya here in Chicago but LOVE that you are able to share your bright personality with the world!

5.0 out of 5 stars Confident Sunshine!, September 24, 2009

This review is from: Morning Sunshine!: How to Radiate Confidence and Feel It Too (Hardcover)
Robin Meade's "Good Morning Sunshine" is a splendid little book that juxtaposes her autobiography with sage advice on navigating through the oft times roiling waters of gaining self confidence in both life and work. Her sense of humor and surprising candor -- not to mention her own self confidence! -- flatters the book's serious commentary with a laid back style that only she could pull off. Most importantly, Robin doesn't just sit in the ivory tower of celebrity pontificating on how the (viewing) masses should manage their own lives. Rather, she offers a admirable sense of humility, taking readers into her private life as a means of demonstrating how the techniques she used transformed her own outlook on life. This is a book I would read again whenever insecurity and a lack of self confidence intrudes into in my own life. Thanks for each and every morning, Robin, and a delightful read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Morning Sunshine, September 23, 2009
This review is from: Morning Sunshine!: How to Radiate Confidence and Feel It Too (Hardcover)
On HLN's news show Morning Express with Robin Meade, the anchor absolutely shines with confidence as she brings the news each morning. You would never guess that she was at one time frozen with fear and questioning her ability to do her job. With an inside look at some of the insanity in the news business, Robin tells her story of overcoming her doubts and fears.

Morning Sunshine is not a stuffy self-help book written by a psychologist delving into your brain. Instead it is a "Hey, sit down here friend and let's talk about this" pep-talk book. She shares her experiences at work, some embarrassing moments, her upbringing, and many touching and personal stories. Especially helpful for me were her ideas on handling criticism. Each chapter has a Confidence Booster, The Takeaway (sort of the final thought of the chapter), and Robin's Ramblings.

The book is a well written, warm, and interesting look at how we react to others, the pressures we put upon ourselves, and how it hinders us personally and professionally. I enjoyed the book and it makes me appreciate her television show and professionalism even more.

This is a very good book. As Robin Meade chronicles the reader through her career she does an excellent job of sharing her path to self-confidence. The book gives an inside look into the often less-than-glamorous world of journalism while also giving a very honest and sincere account of her own struggles. It's refreshing and gives the reader something to come away with.

Even if you don't struggle with self-confidence, it's very interesting to see how she arrived at that place. Because if you've ever seen Robin, you know one thing she does not lack in is confidence. It all seems very genuine as well. I was pleasantly surprised.

It's easy to judge a person, especially when they are successful and beautiful. How wrong we might be! I give Robin Meade HUGE credit for opening herself (all the good and bad) to her reading audience. This isn't about overcoming an addiction, a terrible childhood or any of the other celebrity stories we have read before. This is staightforward and conversational; her stuggle is one we each have to address every day in our lives. Robin's personality is in every chapter. I was afraid the editors would over edit and they certainly didn't.
I am planning on giving this book to every young female I mentor. Robin Meade has learned through experience self esteem and confidence will shape and color every experience in your life. It is humbling how underneath the polished exterior, we are all VERY simliar. Read this book and pass it along. Her confidence is contagious!
