I know that argan oil is pricey, but what mostly comprises this product is water, mineral oil, petrolatum, and dimethicone. Common hair products that are found in many other hair products for styling curls will contain similar and do similar. Argan oil is hardly the main player here. No oily residue not even on your hands...my hair is over processed so it looks dull from time to time. This product brings it back to life like it was when I was younger. Making my hair shiny and baby soft! I bought this and the oil as a gift for my sisters and they LOVE it! I got them hooked as well. Much, much cheaper price on here than what the salons want for it. You can double the price in the salons! It last quite awhile!

I know that argan oil is pricey, but what mostly comprises this product is water, mineral oil, petrolatum, and dimethicone. Common hair products that are found in many other hair products for styling curls will contain similar and do similar. Argan oil is hardly the main player here. Nevertheless, this is priced really high.

Still, it has that lovely Moroccan Oil scent and it does do a very nice job of giving form to natural curls without adding sticky-stiffness, like some other "curly hair" products I've tried. My hair normally is VERY VERY curly and tends to frizz, so I need stuff to tame it. I experimented (semi-successfully) with various products, and in the end, I just end up blowdrying it straight, cause i hate the tangle of curls after a few days. But when I want to go curly (cause my hubby loves my curls), lately I've tried this cream with the argan oil for polishing. It works okay. My curls are better defined without a 'tacky-sticky' feel, and there is softness...and that lovely scent I'm addicted to.

This is a useful, good product, pleasant even, but be careful of quantity. Too little and you won't get good formation of curls and control of frizz. Too much and your hair will look dirty. Find your own balance and you will see good results. Frankly, it's the price that's indecent and made me take off stars. Basically, you're "waxing" your hair with petroleum jelly and mineral oil, and smoothing with dimethicone, and the argan oil is minimal. So, overpriced.

However, this in combination with the argan oil itself is a very effective duo.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing for Relaxed Hair, December 5, 2010
By
This review is from: MoroccanOil Hydrating Styling Cream, 10.2-Ounce Bottle (Health and Beauty)
I am Black and have have had serious trouble getting my relaxed hair to grow. This is partly b/ it's really dry and breaks a lot. It is also b/ my hair feels coarse and its texture fools hair stylists into thinking that they can be rough with it when in fact it is very fragile. Nevertheless, I typically go and get a $10 wash and wrap every week rather than try to wash it myself. Whenever I did wash it myself, it would feel brittle and I'd get a lot of breakage in the ensuing days. If your hair care regimen sounds anything like mine, pick up this product.

I washed my hair yesterday with the MoroccanOil Hydrating Shampoo and followed with the Moisture Repair conditioner. I've done this before and ended up with brittle dry hair but yesterday I added the Moroccan OIl Hydrating Styling Cream to the regimen and it made a wonderful difference. I used more than the bottle instructed-- a full pump and a half and spread it throughout my hair taking care to get the ends. I also put it along my hairline so that my new growth would dry flat. Then I put a satin scarf around my hairline like a thick headband and pinned up the back of my hair and headed to the library (It's final examination time around here). It air-dried strong and sleek and felt wonderful. It wasn't stiff but rather really soft. I encountered breakage (minimal) only when I was combing the conditioner through my hair. On top of that, my boyfriend loved the smell of it and noticed immediately. I paid $15 more than the list price from amazon and still feel like it was an amazing buy. I am confident that my hair will grow now and I will not fear washing my hair anymore.

Note: my natural hair consists of very tight curls if that helps you with your purchase decision. As mentioned above, I strongly recommend this product. Though I liked this product a lot, I'm not sure how essential the Moroccan Oil shampoo and their corresponding repair conditioner are. Nevertheless, since I found such success with this product, I am going to try the intense hydrating mask and the restorative hair mask.

Note 2: the instructions say that you can use the product on wet and dry hair. Last night after my hair was long dry I used it on the ends before I wrapped it. Wrapping usually creates too much stress for my hair but I had no breakage last night while wrapping. It was the first time that I could ever wrap my hair after washing my hair myself

If you're hair issues sound similar to mine, I cannot recommend this product enough.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm hooked =) great stuff, March 4, 2010
This review is from: MoroccanOil Hydrating Styling Cream, 10.2-Ounce Bottle (Health and Beauty)
Moroccan oil Hydrating Styling cream has solved my problem of tangled, dry hair and I'm now recommending it to all my friends. I have colored blond hair, that is thin, fragile, etc. I just massage 2-3 squirts of Moroccan Oil Hydrating Styling cream into wet hair right after showering (concentrating on the ends). Then I normally air dry it (if I'm blow drying, I use 4 squirts). RESULT: soft hair that is smooth to the touch and very "hair-playing" friendly. The product does not weigh my hair down, and it makes my hair smell very nice (got quite a few complements about nice-smelling hair from people I hug).
If you live in an area with cold winters, hot humid or dry summers and you have thin, blond hair that is susceptible to damage - this product is definitely for you.
Before, i tried a bunch of moisturizing damage-repair shampoos and conditioners. But since they're not leave-in, they've proven to be useless. With Moroccan Oil Hydrating Styling cream I can wash my hair with ANY shampoo and conditioner and still get perfect hair (efficiently cuts down my monthly spending).
LOVE THE PRODUCT!
already recommended it to friends and now I'm leaving this review =) ENJOY!

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy from Future City Plus Beauty! (Fake product), March 15, 2011

I've been using this product for years and what I received from Future City Plus Beauty is not the same product. Sure the bottle was the same but he contents have been tampered with.

Moroccan Oil Hydrating Styling Cream is normally an orange color, what I received was a light peach/cream colored product - it looked as though they blended the actual product with some cheap lotion.

Whatever the concoction they've sent is, the product absolutely does not work like the real thing. I'm throwing mine away - it's not worth the hassle of returning! Don't buy from this seller!

4.0 out of 5 stars As good as the oil, August 26, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: MoroccanOil Hydrating Styling Cream, 10.2-Ounce Bottle (Health and Beauty)
I normally purchase the Moroccan oil for my unruly hair. I decided to try this product because it is cheaper, and is 10oz, as opposed to 3 for the oil. This cream is easier to manage, it has a pump, and it seems to work just as well. I recommend this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Curls come to Life, May 8, 2009
I have long thick curly hair that's been losing it's curl as time goes on. I read an article in Womens World about MO and thought I woudld give it a try. I LOVE IT! My hair hasn't looked this good in a few years. I love wearing my hair curly without the frizz or being concerened about the weather messing it up and this does the trick. I little dab will do ya and it's worth the money. The spot of hair that was straighting seemed to snap back in place instantly. MO you have a customer for life.

My hair is thick, wavy & just past my shoulders. I use this wonderful cream after the Moroccan Oil, & my hair is less frizzy. I also use just a little bit of the Curl Cream on my dry hair to define the curls. LOVE this product!

5.0 out of 5 stars Morrocan Oil Intense Curl Cream, December 12, 2008
Great product!!! My curly hair doesn't have any frizzies and it looks and feels so soft while keeping the curls. All you need is one "pump" very small amount and it works so well!

2.0 out of 5 stars Smells great, but NOT a styling product if you have thick hair, September 15, 2011
By
This review is from: MoroccanOil Hydrating Styling Cream, 10.2-Ounce Bottle (Health and Beauty)
My hair is thick, course and curly and I bought this based on the rave reviews. I'm sure it works great with fine wavy hair and it does smell great, but for the price and claim, I was expecting so much more than something that smells nice and makes my hair a little softer.

As a styling product... Well, it just isn't for me. I use it more as a leave in conditioner, when I blow dry and straighten my hair. I tried it as a styling product after I shampood and within an hour, my hair was a fuzzball and no control whatsoever. For me, this was an expensive purchase with little to no results.
