5.0 out of 5 stars Individually calibrated and accurate, I am impressed.
Extremely accurate, ergonomic, does not have the external pointer stop to bend the pointer, and it is easy to read. It does not hold pressure after the gauge is removed; the button on the side is for bleeding off pressure only. Purchase the rubber Moroso 89590 Tire Pressure Gauge Cover that is made for it, the protection and improved handling make it well worth the money...

3.0 out of 5 stars Easy to read gauge, but...
Agree with most of the other reviews. Hose and fittings are heavy duty industrial grade. But the gauge itself is kind of chintzy. The sheet metal body is thin and the plastic cover is probably cheap polystyrene instead of a tough polycarbonate. Definitely need the rubber cover. Almost couldn't get it on. You have to unscrew the gauge from the hose assembly. Mine...

Extremely accurate, ergonomic, does not have the external pointer stop to bend the pointer, and it is easy to read. It does not hold pressure after the gauge is removed; the button on the side is for bleeding off pressure only. Purchase the rubber Moroso 89590 Tire Pressure Gauge Cover that is made for it, the protection and improved handling make it well worth the money and it looks much better with the cover on.

When buying a tool it is best to get a good one that will last for years. The research I did on the internet paid off, I am totally satisfied with this gauge. Because it is a new style it can take a few times to get used to using it. I recommend putting your index finger under the nozzle to make sure the gauge goes on straight to avoid unwanted leaking and apply pressure with your thumb, after using it a while this is may not be necessary.

Being a mechanic I check my tire pressures on both vehicles once a week and accuracy and ease of use is very important to me. I keep this gauge inside the house to keep it nice and my old gauges in the vehicles.

According to Moroso, each Moroso 89560 gauge is individually calibrated for accuracy within 2% which means that at 50 psi the gauge should be not lower than 49 or above 51 as it will not be off by more than 1 psi.

The Moroso 89562 Pro Series Tire Pressure Gauge which is accurate within one half percent which means that the Pro gauge would be not lower than 49.75 or above 50.25 at 50 psi as it will not be off by more than one fourth psi.

I had my Moroso 89560 gauge tested on digital calibration equipment and it was as accurate as the Pro is advertised to be through the range of 5 to 60. If you have a tire that loses more than 1 or 2 psi a month you can have a nail or other leak and several times I have found leaks by regular checks when one tire was lower than the other three.

With high gas prices, keeping your tires properly inflated helps to get the best gas mileage, and twice I have been driving along and have seen people with low tires have blowouts which you can help to avoid by catching slow leaks early.

The gauge is a great value and Amazon.com helped me to get the best price on a product I am totally satisfied with. The one gauge I currently have developed a bent pointer from the zero external stop, the Moroso does not have the zero stop (it does have one where the 75 would be) and I wanted a nice gauge that would last and be easy to use so I am totally delighted and completely satisfied with the Moroso.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid and accurate, February 18, 2008

This review is from: Moroso 89560 Tire Pressure Gauge, Dial Type, 0-60 psi (Misc.)
This is a great tire gauge. I prefer dial-type gauges with a bleed valve, and they don't get much better than this one. Prior to the Moroso, I used a dial-type Accu-gage for a while and liked it, but after about a year, it stopped holding tire pressure -- leaking air. Accu-gage has a lifetime warranty, so for $3 return shipping I know I could send it in to get it fixed, but I wanted something better. I came across the Moroso after reading about gauges online.

The Moroso is much more substantial than the Accu-gage. All of the Moroso components are a little bigger, heavier, and more solid-feeling. The Moroso dial is relatively large, making it easy to set pressure accurately. The connection to the valve stem is more sure than any gauge I have ever used. I don't have anything bad to say about the gauge. Overall, I'd give it a 5 out of 5.

Seems that Amazon doesn't want to sell this item because they don't tell the most important thing about it, that is that it's a 0 - 60 psi gauge to be used for tires needing about 30 psi, give or take 10. The illustration is incorrect, but they show the same picture for all the different Moroso gauges. I measured accuracy against a digital and it's within .5 psi. Best thing is that it makes a perfect and instant seal with the tire. Put a little extra air in, press the button and it's an accurate fill. Seems like a very high quality product. I think the rubber cover is a must. Amazon's is the best price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple, Effective Gauge, June 11, 2007
This review is from: Moroso 89560 Tire Pressure Gauge, Dial Type, 0-60 psi (Misc.)
Professional quality gauge, and it shows. Accurate clear dial, and most importantly, the measurement head seats perfectly everytime on tire valve unlike the fiddly seals on many of the mass market digital units. Useful to also get the 89590 rubber cover for it to better protect the dail head.

Unlike other tire pressure gauges, the Moroso makes an excellent air tight seal with the valve stem. There is no leakage of air giving you confidence that you are getting an accurate reading. I highly recommend this item.

5.0 out of 5 stars I finally believe the pressure readings in my tires, November 10, 2008
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Moroso 89560 Tire Pressure Gauge, Dial Type, 0-60 psi (Misc.)
I've taken up an interest in my tires since moving to Chicago... the dramatic seasonal changes (temperature, snowfall) have convinced me to keep an eye on my tire pressure and tread depth. For years I have used the cheap pen-style pressure gauge where the measuring stick pops out the bottom. I was never comfortable with the results, mostly because I couldn't repeat them. Even tire pumps with built in gauges seemed to be rather unreliable in terms of providing accurate tire pressure measurements.

I'm glad I made the investment in the 89560. This seemed like a lot of money for a tire pressure gauge, but the product lives up to the expectation. Here are some thoughts:

- The nozzle end that connects to the tire stem swivels freely in either direction, making it easier to maneuver the thick tube into an upright position.
- The bleeder valve is great. I over-inflate the tires a little and then bleed the excess air out. The gauge keeps the correct reading after pressing the bleeder so there is no need to reset anything or remove the nozzle.
- The 0-60 PSI rating is the perfect scale for my cars' tires. My Toyota Sienna is 35 PSI, my Honda Civic is 30 PSI, and my spare is 60 PSI. This scale allows me to see the reading in much finer detail versus the 0-100 PSI gauge.
- I was able to get consistent readings on every tire, even after disconnecting the nozzle over and over. The nozzle has a good seal on the stem and virtually no air escapes.
- Although the gauge head is large and easy to read, it feels a little fragile. I would highly recommend the purchase of the 89590 gauge cover. I set the gauge on the ground many times while measuring all of my tires and am certain that the face and sides would have been scratched up after just a couple of uses.
- I would also recommend the Slime COMP06 tire inflator to quickly top off the pressure in each tire from the comfort of your own garage.
- The picture that Amazon uses for the product is not entirely accurate. It is showing the 0-100 PSI gauge with a blue collar on the nozzle. The 0-60 PSI guage has smaller increments on the face of the dial, and the nozzle collar is black.
- Finally, I received the product packaged on a large blister card which did not include any specific operation instructions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Accurate and Dependable, August 18, 2007
This review is from: Moroso 89560 Tire Pressure Gauge, Dial Type, 0-60 psi (Misc.)
This analog tire gauge is accurate and dependable. It has a convenient bleed valve to release pressure from over-inflated tires. If you place a high value on safety, the Moroso 89560 Tire Pressure Gauge is worth the money.

3.0 out of 5 stars Easy to read gauge, but..., January 22, 2009

Agree with most of the other reviews. Hose and fittings are heavy duty industrial grade. But the gauge itself is kind of chintzy. The sheet metal body is thin and the plastic cover is probably cheap polystyrene instead of a tough polycarbonate. Definitely need the rubber cover. Almost couldn't get it on. You have to unscrew the gauge from the hose assembly. Mine was over-torqued. Almost returned it because I couldn't get it off and I was afraid I'd break the gauge. With patience and great care, finally did it. They should charge a little extra and install the cover as standard. Hose is very stiff and you have to push the fitting hard to seat it on the valve stem. Maybe will loosen with use. I bought an Accutire MS-5510B digital gauge as well, but sometimes a good ol' mechanical gauge is better for some applications. Both gave about the same reading.

Update: After about six months of use (check three cars once/week), the hose is broken in and no longer too stiff. The fitting now also has worn in and seats easily over the valve stem. So overall it's now quicker to use than the Accutire electronic gauge.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best tire pressure gauge I've ever used!, April 12, 2008
By

This review is from: Moroso 89560 Tire Pressure Gauge, Dial Type, 0-60 psi (Misc.)
The best thing about this gauge (as others have mentioned) is the perfect seal on the valve stem. There are absolutely no air leaks so I am confident I am getting the correct pressure (assuming the gauge is accurate...but I have no way to verify that). The gauge is large and easy to read. It is a little ungainly to use at first because of the stiff tubing (I won't store this one in my car because of the size) but it becomes easier to use with practice. Some mentioned that this gauge doesn't hold the pressure on the dial like some others. It couldn't do this and have a functional bleed valve (which in my opinion is much preferable). You just fill the tire a few pounds higher than recommended and then bleed the air (using the bleed valve) to your desired pressure. Very simple and elegant. Only one complaint (again as others have mentioned). The rubber gauge cover (which is a must purchase) ought to be included for the price. By the way, at first I thought I was going to have to disassemble the gauge to put the rubber cover on but it can be slipped over the entire tubing to be but on without disassembling anything!

What I saw in the picture is NOT what I got. Mine is all black and has much longer valve tube.

This is a H-U-G-E gauge and more suitable for home use than carrying along on the road. Very good valve stem fitment and it rotates too. Dial has somewhat cheesy plastic feel but does show accurate pressure (makes me realize my trusted little portable Accutire gauge is in fact off by 2 psi.) Bleed valve is a nice feature but don't expect a precision feel. Four stars!
