This book is nothing short of awesome. I cried when I read it the first time because it was the first book I found that truly reflected my son's experience with the world. He asked me to read it twice the first night and then every night for a week after that. I could practically hear his mind working as we were reading it. He loved it.

I actually found it at our library but to any moms or dads out there who have a son that is gender non-conforming, this is the book for you. It roots itself in the imagination and in Morris's sensory interaction with his world, then it brings in some realism in the form of how Morris's peers react to him at school and how he, in turn, reacts to them.

I highly, highly recommend this book for any child, but if your son love dresses, this book will reflect his experience and give him confidence.

Morris is a bright and creative child who loves wearing the tangerine dress he finds in the dress-up centre. It makes such a lovely sound and reminds him of his mother's red hair and his ginger tabby cat. But the kids make fun of him. They aren't comfortable with Morris dressing "like a girl." The taunting destroys Morris's joy, but not forever. Ultimately, his imagination will lead the way and bring this sweet story to a lovely resolution. The story is beautifully told, simple yet profound. The illustrations match the text perfectly. I loved this book and highly recommend it for K - 2.

This is blind-love and acceptance at it's best. If I wasn't a school librarian, then I'd shouted it from the rooftops. I took it to my superiors to read and they axed it quicker than a mandolin!

This is one of my favorite books to read to my twin preschoolers. I discovered it at a book conference two years ago and was so excited to have found such a beautifully illustrated and masterfully written book that teaches tolerance and acceptance of others who are different, WITHOUT SOUNDING PREACHY. To the reviewer who believes that this book encourages children to cross-dress, I am saddened that you would write such a misinformed review. We need more books with messages of acceptance and kindness like this one. Thank you for writing this Christine Baldacchino!

Morris could be anyone. My favorite characters are always the ones I can relate to. This book is beautifully written and contains lovely artwork to go with it. A story you can read over and over again that proves how easy it is to let others just be themselves. I can't wait to read more from Christine Baldacchino..
