Way Better Than The First!,
This review is from: Mortal Kombat: Annihilation - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
This might just be the best soundtrack ever made. The Main Theme is absolutely fantastic! It's definatly better than the first one, it's faster, and really dancey. The 2nd song, "Fire" is also tons of fun. And then the 3rd one is fantastic! Oh gosh, what am I saying? Every single song on here is better than the last! With the exception of the Kill Bill: Volume 1 soundtrack, I don't think there's one finer. Even if you think you aren't into the Techno/Industrial type music, give it a shot. I've had a lot of my friends listen to it, and I've yet to have one say, "oh my gosh, what is that CRAP?" most of them ask if they can borrow it! I've recorded it off to tape for so many people I've lost count!

Much better than the first MK soundtrack.,

The first MK soundtrack was good, but there was too much hardcore punk. This one had not a lot of singing, and there was more instrumentalism to these tracks, and they were very good. I recommend this CD highly. Also, check the MK movie Score. I bought the first MK CD, thinking it was just the instrumental music, but it wasn't. I just found out yesterday that there are two different CDs.

A Kid's Review

I'll be honest, when I first bought this album I wasn't too fond of it. After hearing the fantastic soundtrack and score to the first movie I was expecting much of the same. After forcing myself to listen to this new album consistantly I completely take back my original opinion... Many of the bands on this album I have since grown to love (ie Rammstein, Pitchshifter, KMFDM, Scooter, and Lunatic Calm). Definately pay attention to the Pitchshifter track, it's one of a kind energetic chaos, and it's incredible! Danny Saber's remix of Megadeth - Almost Honest is also formidable! 10 time greater than the original. Some tracks to skip over after repetidly listening: The Immortals (too close to the original), Urban Voodoo, and Joseph Bishara's Death Is The Only Way Out... Forget all you've read, buy this album now and listen for yourself. You will thank me in the end.

One of the best CDs I've heard,
By Bull Durham (United States) - See all my reviews

This compilation has loads of great songs that will keep you coming back to listen to this CD for years to come. It contains pulse-pounding tunes each with variety in styles from the artists. It's easy to visualize some MK fight scenes listening to this music. The soundtrack stands by itself as one of the best. In the movie, the songs unfortunately came across as monotonus because similar songs were inserted back-to-back in the fight scenes. (part of that was because of the music selection and part of that was because every fight scene was just another fight scene and not much more important than the previous one). MK2 was (I'm sorry to say) a B movie, but the soundtrack is an A+++.

This is by far the best CD ever made in history!!! If you are a big electronic/techno fan, this CD is a must-have!!! Best songs include the theme from the Immortals, FIRE!!!!!, Panik Kontrol, and Anomaly. By the way, don't forget to buy the first soundtrack and More Kombat. They are all the best!!!!!!!!!!

What can I say? I'm spoiled to own two absolutely stellar soundtracks from the Mortal Kombat series!! I'm also excited about purchasing the remaining two. After hearing the first soundtrack, I thought, "How is a second soundtrack going to compete with such a great first one? Well, Mortal Kombat Annihilation manages to hold its own. This album takes a little getting used to, but once you hear it a second or third time, it's awesome. It's quite distinct from the first soundtrack, as almost every song is a blending of techno and metal that gives them a very unique sound. Because of this, this soundtrack is more dancy than the first. I think that it's a razor-thin close second to the first soundtrack. The reason why I think the first one is better is because it's a little more varied, and can appeal to more people. Mortal Kombat Annihilation has plenty of great tracks, such as FIRE, MEGALOMANIAC,GENIUS,ALMOST HONEST, WE HAVE EXPLOSIVE, TWO TELEPHONE CALLS AND AN AIR RAID,and DEATH IS THE ONLY WAY OUT. My absolute favorites are FIRE and DEATH IS THE ONLY WAY OUT. There's no sophomore jinx here. This CD rocks, and is a must-have for all fans of the franchise. 9.9/10

An essential soundtrack,
By A Customer
This review is from: Mortal Kombat: Annihilation - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
I loved the Mk1 soundtrack, and once i saw the trailer for part2 baq in 97' i just knew i was gonna be blown away with more great music. and i was right, once they aired the commerical for the soundtrack on tv i forced my brother at gun-point (not really) to go out and buy the soundtrack for me and he did, and once i started listening to it i knew it was literally one of the best soundtracks for any movie ever. The movie itself was quite D-rated, but the soundtrack made up for that. you got juno reactor, kmfdm, pitchshifter, megadeath. the list goes on. Few cd's top this for beating someone up to (in video games of course). Im not sure which mk soundtrack is my favorite, mk1 owns, the mk1 bonus soundtrack "more kombat" owns and so does this one. It's well worth your money. I got it back in 97 and for an odd reason im still not sick of it. Sign of a keeper ;-)

What can I say? This is a great soundtrack for people who love techno and industrial music. I like "Engel" by Rammstein, and I love the Middle Eastern theme in "Panik Kontrol" by Psykosonik. Two bad this song isn't in any of their CDs. I also like "Calling Your Name" by Libra Presents Taylor, whoever they are. If anyone has any information on the artist "Shaun Imrei" please e-mail me. "Two Telephone Calls and An Air Raid" may be the best and fastest techno song I've ever heard.
