5.0 out of 5 stars Mortal Komeback August 30, 2011
Mortal Kombat: Legacy is a video series that is online and free to watch at any time. However. For everyone who has been complaining and hating on the fact that they're releasing it on Blu-Ray, let's just break down why this is how it is. And why we could benefit from supporting this.

1. It cost this guy money to make this web series. And If you liked it. Why wouldn't you want to support it?

2. This wasn't even supposed to turn into a big series. Originally, Mortal Kombat: Legacy was just some video this guy made to show WB to say "Hey. A good Mortal Kombat movie can be just need the right direction...." And due to the trailer he created being leaked (because someone found it and thought it was the coolest thing for Mortal Kombat in a long time) it became insanely popular and WB allowed it to be made into a series. Which leads me into my next two points.

3.Say that supporting him would get us another Season like this? A well made look into Mortal Kombat that we'll never get from filmmakers that don't understand.

and finally....

4. They will be watching this releases sales. If it does well. Who knows? We could just get the Mortal Kombat movie we've all always wanted.

So there you go. Maybe this doesn't persuade any of you. It IS still free to watch on the net. But just remember. It DID cost money to make. If you liked it. And you want more of it. Support it. That's the best I can say. Plus. I bet it will be pretty great to have em all on disc and watch em in a row on your giant TV in 1080P. I'll be buying it. That's for sure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't wait for a proper dvd/blu-ray release!! September 1, 2011
I just found out that the Mortal Kombat teaser that made the rounds last year was made into a full blown web series. And it is awesome! I am glad that Warner is releasing this on Blu-ray and I hope it is promoted properly and sells well for them. This show needs to be developed into a full TV series or theatrical movie. And what better way to finance the project than by giving it's fans a beautiful 1080p transfer of the show that they originally enjoyed on their computer screens. What better way to say "thanks for the cool show" then by purchasing something you know you will want in your collection.

For all the naysayers out there who feel that people shouldn't buy this because it is "free on the internet", all I can say is shame on you. If you don't like a show, that is one thing, but to tell people not to buy it because it is free is pretty much saying "I don't support good product. I am a whiny baby that wants everything for free, even if it means that I will only get one season of web episodes instead of a full TV series or movie." You people are the reason that the anime industry has fallen apart. People who insist on getting stuff for free on the internet as if it were some sort of constitutional right are destroying cool projects. The point of these releases is to support the creative folks who have put a lot of money into something that they hope will pay off in a successful series. But all the internet generation seems to understand is "give it to me for free and when I've bled it dry, I'll go find someone else who will give it to me for free and bleed them dry."

Why not try supporting things you like instead of killing them off.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just what this Franchise needed!! November 5, 2011
First of all, before the review: I'm not such a big fan of the MK games (I have some of them, though, and I like them). I'm no expert about reviewing media/movie/tv-series content... I just say what I feel and think about it.

I've read the reviews here and some of them don't make this web series proper justice. But to be honest, this web series is aiming for the hardcore fans of the Mortal Kombat legacy (yes, even the title describes it as it is: Mortal Kombat LEGACY). This series put right in front of our eyes what every fan out there wanted to see: the history behind all the mayor characters of this great game... but in a real flesh and blood living people way!!... this is not CG characters, they're standing right there, as real as they can be... and that's a great deal to me!!...

Now, those on this planet who haven't seen/watched/enjoyed/bought the game nor the web series, please DO trust me and go buy'em right now!!...
It's a good thing to support the effort to bring one of the most successful franchise in the game industry, so what are you waiting for?...

It's a fact too that this web series can be watched/downloaded from internet for free.. for those who feel that it's ok to take advantage of other's efforts to give us a good series, then don't buy it... but don't say it's not worth the money it costs, 'cause other way you people wouldn't have watched it, would you?... If it's so not worthy, why watching it in the first place?... Think about that. You don't want to buy it? Ok, don't. Want to recommend other people not to buy it? Do so... but don't say this series is not worthy please, 'cause it is. Why? Because of a simple reason: Any kind of product/thing/act/etc into which a person put his best effort to create it, worths every penny.

Please, bear with my english since it's not that good. I hope this review serves to others to decide buying this product or not... but without taking its value away.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really like the game. Loved the series better
I'm a fan of the video game. But this is one of the best interpretations of a video game. You have to have this as part of your collection.

4.0 out of 5 stars Short dvd series, but still good.
Some of the stories were too short and didn't really give good details. Overall it was a good dvd to watch and a nice add to the collection.

Episodes are too short. 2 episodes were animated. The storyline is a bit weak. But the rest is okay I guess.

DVD release?
I'd say there'll probably be one. But since there isn't any sign of one yet, it'll most likely either be bundled with the first two films or on a set that contains the two the TV series as well (Defenders Of The Realm, Conquest).
