1.0 out of 5 stars Great game terrible system
Great game terrible system. If you had to buy a 32x rip off piece of junk to play this version just avoid it and get the SNES version.

4.0 out of 5 stars The best fighter for Sega's short lived Genesis add-on, July 11, 2007
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Mortal Kombat II for Sega 32x (Video Game)
Sega's other failed Genesis add-on (the Sega CD outlasted it), the 32X didn't have much in terms of third party support (other than Acclaim, who also published this), let alone solid fighters. Besides a port of Sega's own Virtua Fighter, this port of Mortal Kombat II is the best fighter ever made for the 32X. Compared to the Genesis version, the picture has been cleaned up, the characters are larger, and the sound is noticibly better as well. All that being said, this ended up being the best installment in the 2-D Mortal Kombat series, but be forewarned that this is not an arcade perfect port. The Sega Saturn version of the game, released only a few years later, is an arcade perfect port that took advantage of the Saturn's 2-D processing power. That being said, if you still own a 32X and want the best games available for it (and believe me, there are few), Mortal Kombat II is the best fighting game you'll find for it.

4.0 out of 5 stars MKII 32X, June 13, 2011
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Mortal Kombat II for Sega 32x (Video Game)
Mortal Kombat II is possibly the most ported games of all time. Its easy to see why. It is probably the best of the series. In the early 90s(when this was released)you had two major systems. The SNES and Genesis, the problem was Segas system could not show many colors at one time and had limited audio capablity. So Sega released the 32X addon(like Sega CD) to enhanse the systems abilities. This is the game that shows how much it improved. The Genesis version had limited audio(NO names mentioned and muffled music), colors lacking(Things are greyed and limited pallet), and lower detailed then the SNES version. Both are far, far from the Arcade version.(which even the Saturn version didn't get 100% but closest)Genesis though had arcade speed, but that was it. So this version brought full audio of the Arcade(not the same quality), the amount of colors atleast doubled, and more detail. The Saturn version is a better port, but remember that when this game was released this was the best version you could buy. It was as close as you could get to the Arcade in 1994.
