It might look and sound like it, but this really isn't a collection of songs used in the movie "Mortal Kombat" which didn't get onto the first soundtrack album. A better title for this one might be "Mortal Kombat: Music Inspired By the Motion Picture."

Of course, "More Kombat" does have its good points: "It Has Begun" by Psychosonik and "Fatality" by Loaded use sounds from both the movie and one of the video games. But like the first "Mortal Kombat" soundtrack cassette tape, "More Kombat" has more of the same split between techno and metal, though there are far more metal tracks. Yep, these bands are definitely ready to rumble.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pulse-pounder, July 9, 2000

Unlike the other CDs from the first MK movie, this CD is more akin to the MK:Annihilation CD in that it has a variety of self-contained songs with heavy techno-beats (mostly). I listen to this CD in my car now and again, and I never get tired of it. Track #2 is a great song, and track #8 is even better (with the Scorpion's "Come Here" yell in the background--it's awesome). A lot of the other tracks are simply outstanding. I think the MK:Annihilation CD surpassed this one, but it is nevertheless a memorable CD. I highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Like It, So Will You, August 5, 2005
This review is from: Mortal Kombat: More Kombat (Audio CD)
This is a pretty powerful album. There are a lot of good songs on it. I don't think that it goes along with a movie though, because to my knowledge there are only 2 (non cartoon) Mortal Kombat movies, and this album does not match up with one. That said, it is still really good. If you like this compilation, also pick up the first Mortal Kombat Soundtrack and the Mortal Kombat Annihilation Soundtrack. They are all just as good.

This soundtrack is great. It by far, surpasses the first soundtrack. The beats are totally awesome, and there isn't one bad song. A must for any Mortal Kombat or techno fan.

A great cd, featuring one of the strongest trance singles I've ever came across, the brilliant "Higher" by Alien Factory. Unfortunately, these guys are so obscure that this is really the only place to find this gem..

I love the game series, I love the movies and I love this CD! The best tracks on it are the first,(It Has Begun,) eighth,(Fatality) and the tenth.(Spaceman) If you like techno music, buy this CD. If you don't like techno, buy it anyway.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you own the first MK album, pull out your wallet again!, August 25, 1998

Wow, where did this compilation come from? Out of the blue this little gem of techno/industrial came into my life and gave me some purely awesome samples of some truly great bands. Cubanate, Sepultura (the remix here kicks, but avoid the original version), Chemlab, The Crystsl Method, Juno Reactor, and Killing Joke all are the best! Because of this album, my CD collection jumped into the stratosphere!
