I love this book! It is easy to use, carry around and the spiral ring binder makes it easy to lay open on a table for referencing when you're working on a project.
I like the practical advice on safety and cleanliness. I like that it gives advice on setting up your work space. It's full of little tricks I've used over the years like cutting tile into a paper grocery bag so you don't have shards and slivers all over. It also reminds you not to brush off your work with your hands (I didn't start using a brush for this until I slashed 3 fingers and spent a few hours in the ER!).
This will be the book I tell my beginner level students to start with! It's good practical information.

I went to a Tomboy Tools tile making party. I loved making my first mosaic. I want to mosaic everything in site, and this is a perfect resource. The author starts at the beginning and explains what you need and why you need it. I ordered three books, but this is my favorite. It not only has getting started advice, it has beautiful color photos. Extremely pleased with this purchase.

Thought this book was very informative especially when you've been away
from Mosaics for awhile and need to review some techniques -or- just learning. Loved the smaller size it comes in.

Whether you are a beginner, or an experienced mosaic artist, this book is really beneficial. I have not done mosaics in a few years, so this book has come in very handy with information, especially with newer products now available.

If you want to invest in just one book to learn the "how to's" of mosaics, this is the one to get. Love it!!! I got 5 or 6 books on this subject and this is the one I almost always refer to.

This is a must-have reference book for anyone interested in mosaic art. The projects are fully explained with pictures to help guide you if this is your first attempt, or if you need a refresher. I highly recommend it.

This book explains some DESIGN technique that I have not seen in other books. A good book to help you take your original designs to the next level. It is also very good on the basics.

I hate to be the one to break the 5 star rating. However, I eagerly awaited this book for the green and blue seaweed design featured on the cover as well as in the Amazon book images. Maybe I am blind, but I could not find that design as a project or in any detail, including not even the full picture from the Amazon images, anywhere in the book. I emailed both the publisher and author weeks ago with no response. I tried to report to Amazon that the image was inaccurate but there was no option to explain that image could not be found in the book. My disappointment in this missing design unfortunately overshadows what my review might have been otherwise. I will say I have perused many technique books from the library and this one is fairly similar to the others, perhaps a little better, though most I checked out were good. I have noticed a snippet of the seaweed design on another of the author's books but no further info.

This book came on time and the person I gave it to really likes it. I have not had a chance to look at it much yet but find the pictures very nice.
