I have my disappointments with this book., January 5, 2011
I really enjoyed the first two books, and I'm not opposed to a m/f/m relationship, but something about the pairing in this particular book throws me off. By the half-way point, I had figured it out.
First, I find Emma to be rather boring. Her personality just doesn't spark and really, I don't see the chemistry between the three characters. So I really don't like her being a part of their relationship.
Secondly. A great deal of this book was spent discussing Emma. Gideon trying to convince Jesse to explore his feelings for Emma. Gideon trying to get Jesse to confess his feelings to Emma. Gideon trying to convince Jesse to invite Emma into their relationship. Gideon trying to convince Emma to join Jesse and him. Emma wondering if she could share their world. Emma wondering if they would accept her. Emma wondering what to do with her current boyfriend who was helping her with her empathy. Then when they finally get her to join them, it seemed as though Gideon becomes a secondary character as Jesse and Emma have a very LONG sex scene that wasn't nearly as entertaining or enticing as anything Gideon and Jesse have done.
It wasn't that the sex scenes weren't well written, they were. But I just didn't care about Emma enough to invest in them. I would have much rather seen Jesse and Gideon together. The threesome's first love scene together was rather tame and there was far too much talking.
The plotline itself was entertaining and it's really what kept me invested in the book. I'll read book 4 because I do enjoy this series, but I kind of wish Emma wasn't added in or that she was just a random fling. That's just me.

Loved till the 3rd book, July 8, 2010
Was loving the series and sure continues to do well but am sadden that at the 3rd book the link between the two main guys is broken with me and their D/s scenes now seem to be fogged as the books now focus way to much on emma who i find to be droll....still a good read if can get past the M/F/M scenes (which are well done) and the on going banter about emma.

Gideon Keel and Jesse Madding have a strong relationship that works for them very well. While Jesse is wildly in love with Gideon and happy in their relationship he still feels a strong attraction for their close friend Emma that makes him uncomfortable. Gideon, on the other hand, would like nothing more than for Jesse acknowledge that his feelings for Emma are love and to tell her - because Gideon believes that Jesse's feelings are returned. All in all, Gideon just wants to give Jesse everything that Jesse desires - but this time it happens that it coincides with something that he wants as well - Emma.
Emma Coolidge has lived a life of isolation until she met Gideon and Jesse. These two men not only managed to befriend her, but also got Emma the help she needs to control her gift of empathy so she can enjoy a relatively normal life. The Master Chronicles 3: Mosaic Moon is a wonderful book that skillfully weaves in magic, vampires, love and intrigue while plunging us back into the hectic lives of Gideon and Jesse. In this new adventure Gideon and Jesse continue to explore the boundaries of their relationship while continuing to play their games in the bedroom with the added spice of including Emma in their lives. The dynamics of Gideon and Jesse are interesting and fun to read about as we get to know them better and realize that the bondage games that they play reflect some of their needs but do not necessarily encompass the entirety of what they feel and need from one another. Emma, on the other hand, as an empath is a great window into the feelings of both men and serves to balance their relationship while adding the softer touch that Jesse craves. When Gideon, Jesse and Emma come together they will set fire to your screen and have you sweating in no time. However, the suspense part of the story is more like a sub-plot rather than part of the main action which is all about romance and the relationship between Gideon, Jesse and Emma. Mosaic Moon is a great ménage romance that will satisfy every romantic heart - do go looking for Mosaic Moon the next time you go shopping!
