This is the Most Amazing Book on Mosaics i have purchased in a while and Trust Me I have More Mosaic Books to fill up my Book Shelf. The Writer Laurel Skye will show you projects from Start to finish from Wine Bottles to Shoes to Light Plates to items in her own home to Bottle caps, Shes Incredible! Cant wait for her next Book! I Happen to have an Addiction to Millefiori those Adorable Little Colorful Circles of Hand Made Glass i use them all the time in my Mosaic's I also LOVE the Resources Page on PAGE 126 OF lAUREL SKYE'S Book it is very helpful and i now have found an even Cheaper Place to buy my Millefiori Cheaper in Bulk, and I can have a Field day picking out what i want! You can't go Wrong, Buy her Book Today!

After eagerly awaiting the release of Mosaic Renaissance, I was most definitely not disappointed! This book is so much like being in a Skye workshop! Laurel's instructions are clear and concise, while conveying the delightful sense of whimsy found in so much of her work. The accompanying photographs give insight, even to the novice mosaicist. The vibrant personalities of Laurel and her daughter and teammate Kiah shine on every single page! A pure joy to read and view!

I am relatively new to the world of mosaic art and found this book to be well written as well as inspiring! The directions are clear and useful. The images of the work she presents are as rich and deep as her life sounds!

I have been awaiting this book since I pre-ordered it and it is wonderful, just like Laurel and Kiah! I am new to the world of mosaic art, for less than a year. I was fortunate to be able to fly to Cal. from my home in Florida to spend a whole week in 7/09 learning many of the styles and techniques shown in this book, in person. Laurel is such a wonderful and generous teacher and it really shows in her book;easy to follow step-by-step instructions for beginner or experienced artist, so that you have the tools to step out into your own creativity. The illustrations are so clear and gorgeous and really reflect the person she is. I feel I've been given a huge jump start into a whole new realm and am making good use of all I have learned. The millefiori patterns are beautiful reminders that this is a limitless art form. I will continue to draw inspiration from this book.Once you begin you will never be the same! Thank you Laurel and Kiah,may your inspiration spread far & wide with this book.

I just received this book today after anxiously awaiting its release. This is absolutely a DREAM COME TRUE for me! I have been a HUGE Laurel Skye fan for years and have always wished for a "how-to" of her style. This book does not disappoint with its gorgeous photographs, clear and easy to understand instructions, and nice variety of projects. I have never been able to take any of Laurel's classes, being across the country in Nashville, TN, but I have purchased one of her mirrors, which I have proudly displayed in my foyer. I wish I could accurately encapsulate into words how her artwork resonates within me...all the richness, complexity, and uniqueness. There is something about Laurel's mosaics - I don't know exactly what - but no other mosaics look like her's. I have MANY, MANY mosaic books, and Laurel's work truly stands separate from the rest and speaks to me as no other kind can. Laurel, if you ever read this - I want you to know how truly grateful I am for you, your talent, your vision, your inspiration, and for your decision to share some of your mosaic knowledge with the world. For many years now when teaching my mosaic classes and workshops, I have always included Laurel Skye's
website in my handouts. Her work never fails to blow me away.
I would show my class photos of Laurel's mosaic shoes and they would flip.
I was so excited to see the instructions for mosaicing these shoes in this book.
Her use of color is magnificient. Truly a "Visual Feast". There are many Mosaic books but none come close to this one. Laurel gives you step by step instruction for pieces which on first glance seem too complicated for a beginner.
No such thing... She is going to take us all along to a higer level.
I assure you, you won't want to put it down.
She also includes a Gallery of International Mosaic Artists. I am honored to have my mosaic fox couple amongst the work of all of these wonderful artists.
My husband was just looking through the book and said... Wow what a beautiful book! We should get a bunch of these to give as Chrismas gifts!!! Without a doubt we will.

"Mosaic Renaissance" is breezy and fun, for beginners to experts. I love Laurel Skye's presentation. I have 35+ mosaic books and this one is now my favorite. "Mosaic Renaissance" is so informative and inspiring, with much valuable information not found in other books. I took a class from Laurel in 2008, so I knew this book was coming. If you can't take a class from her, you now have the next best thing!

Excellent book with many ideas and easy to follow instructions to create something out of the ordinary.

Laurel Skye was my inspiration to attempt mosaics 3 years ago. This book has been a much anticipated blessing. I'm so thrilled to be allowed inside the imagination of Laurel Skye. She has shared so clearly her approach to her unique style in this well written book. This is the next best thing to being there taking one of her classes. She imparts information that's useful, easy to follow and oh so inspiring!! I would recommend this to anyone who might be showing even the most remote interest in mosaics, as well as to the seasoned pro. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Laurel, for a great book....
