5.0 out of 5 stars FANTASTICO!
This is Flamenco at its best. The Gipsy Kings(known as Los Reyes in Spain, and are actually French) are such masters at capturing all the beauty and angst the tradition of Flamenco has to offer. 1.0 out of 5 stars Enjoy
I purchased this album after hearing a (1) song from it. The songs in this album are both new (to me) and (old classics). All of the music is compelling and exciting. You can listen, dance or exercise to the music and none of the songs are boring or lacking in an rhythm that makes you want to move.

This is Flamenco at its best. The Gipsy Kings(known as Los Reyes in Spain, and are actually French) are such masters at capturing all the beauty and angst the tradition of Flamenco has to offer. Nicolas Reyes' voice is so unique and powerful and the Baliardos brothers are guitar virtuosos. Some of my favorites include: "Caminando Por La Calle," one of my favorites of all time, "Viento Del Arena," with a real Gypsy feel to it, and the emotionally charged "Trista Pena," which still brings tears to mis ojos. It doesn't matter whether you understand Spanish or not, music trancends all languages. Just enjoy the wonderful vibes...

5.0 out of 5 stars Best of them all, March 26, 2003

I own seven Gipsy Kings CDs (including this one), and this one has to be my #1 favorite. The songs on here can stick in my head for hours. Probably my favorite track is "El Camino", but they are all fantastic.

If you are just starting to listen to the Gipsy Kings, this CD should be one of the first ones you buy. The songs don't seem to be as traditional as the ones on other disks, but they are all very very good.

The first track is an excellent example of the power, passion and emotion that Nicolas Reyes can transpose through his voice.Tonio Baliardo is truly an extraordinary talent on lead guitar. This is a band with honesty and passion. Their rythmns are incredibly satisfying.Put your head between two speakers, listen closely, close your eyes, and prepare to be taken away.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delves deeper into Flamenco, March 15, 2004

This is like Bamboleo, but goes deeper within. The range of human emotions is expressed, from melancholy to elation. Beautiful guitar work. These are masters of both string and voice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ole!!, May 23, 1998
This review is from: Mosaique (Audio CD)
Mosaique is a great recording- perfect for a party, sharing with a special someone or just dancing around your living room! The songs are upbeat and are full of scintillating rhythyms which abound with not only Spanish but with North African flavors as well. The layering of the music is lush. Grab a glass of sangria and enjoy!

Incredible music. The mix of influences is wonderfully effective. The music of Spain with its Moorish past very evident, make this album hauntingly beautiful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mosaique, June 16, 2001
This review is from: Mosaique (Audio CD)
Mosaique is another brilliand release containing great songs. Standout tracks are: Volare, Soy, Vamos A Bailar, the beautiful Trista Penna and the very atmospheral Viento Del Arena. It is simply a masterpiece. The Album containes brilliant Instrumental tracks, the best of which is Passion which must be the most beautiful song I have ever heard. The US release is slightly different from the Euro release. The Us release containes the catchy Nina Morena, but the Euro release containes Bossamba, an added instrumental track. The version of Caminado Por La Calle is also much better on the Euro release, with the added percussion and sax. Both releases are however very recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars RUMBA FLAMENCA FOREVER!!!!, May 19, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Mosaique (Audio CD)
