While the information in the chapters of this book is very good, the answer keys for the quizzes at the end of each chapter and the comprehensive test have many incorrect answers. I have the 2008 edition and I think the publisher did not update the answer key. I am very disappointed with this because the sample questions are one of the main reasons why I purchased the book. It makes learning the material confusing if the answers given for the questions contradict what is written in the text.

I enjoy the layout of the book and was pleased to see that they covered nearly all of the subjects in the veterinary techonology field. However, I agree with the other review about the 2008 edition of the book. There were many incorrect answers to the review questions at the ends of the chapters and in the final quiz. Also, I just took the VTNE, and I primarily used this book for studying, and I don't feel like it helped me much at all (not even sure I passed!).

This book has really concise summaries of a lot of the information that could be covered in the VTNE. I did find however, that it may not include some information in some sections and a large portion of information on others. I guess it depends on the curriculum at the school you attend. Overall though it is pretty comprehensive and definitely helps for a quick read and refresher even when you need it in clinic.

Briefly reviews different topics. Has 6-15 questions at each end of chapter review. Good for light review material to brush up on topics and see if you need to go back and do more hard core review from your old school books.

The book was nice in the fact that it has a pretty comprehensive outline of all topics, ie- anesthesia, anatomy, etc. But there are incorrect answers in the quiz sections and wrong information in the outlines, so it is really confusing!!! I would not recommend this book, i recommend Thomas Colville's review book.

My main problem with this book was that some of the answers to the review questions were incorrect. This made it much more difficult to study and know that I was studying the right information. Apparently this will be corrected in a future addition. I also wish that there were more review questions at the end of each chapter instead of just ten.
Besides that, the information in the chapters is easy to read, and well organized.

I bought this book for my daughter to help her with completing her education for Veerinary Technician. She found many helps hints and information to help her with her schooling and even for when she takes the boards. I recommend this book for any one who needs help in areas dealing with Veterinary Technology.

This book is helpful if you are just using the outlines in each chapter but the very scarey thing is that the many of the answers to the quizzes in each chapter and the comprehensive test at the end of the book are wrong!! I found many answers to the tests and quizzes on the CD included are wrong as well...not very helpful for making sure you are learning the right things! I even contacted the publishers and they blew me off. This is a costly mistake, especially if you fail your boards because you thought the answers they gave were right! I would not rely on using the tests from this book to find out how much knowledge you have.

This book is amazing. It has everything you could ever need. I used it to study for the VTNE, along with a 2 year program. This book is very succinct and to the point. No reading 30 pages to get to all the important details. I highly Recommend.

Pros:
This book has all the information you will ever need, and then some.
A chapter objective feature that describes what you'll know after reading each chapter.
Extended information about the subjects you've learned or are learning in school.
Excellent for finding answers to those on the spot questions the docs spring on you.

Cons:
As large as a text book.
Small print.
This may be just me but it's really slippery and flimsy so I drop it and lose my place alot.
A lot of information to wade through.

I recommend this as an excellent reference book. It's like all of your school books wrapped in one minus the pictures.
