In today's health care environment you're expected, as a provider, to see patients quickly in order to be "productive". I hoped this book would help me to streamline my exams and give me tips on how to do a responsible but quick exam. The book doesn't do that at all. Though it has it's merits, and I liked its section on differential diagnoses of chief complaints, it really isn't much different from any other physical assessment how-to book. I bought it because my supervisor said I had to work faster, and it didn't help me.

This is a good reference for the nursing student. It has all I needed in it to help at clinicals and to pass Health Assessment class. I'll be using this book for a long time to come. It wasn't an assigned book for our class, but I wanted MORE than the HUGE Med-Surg book to work from. This spiral-bound book hones the information that I need quickly to assess my clients accurately and with confidence. The only downfall is that I wish the book had more pictures. Being a student, the full price was too steep for me, so I went with an Amazon Seller, to get it at 1/2 price. That made it worth while.

I was very disappointed to see that this book, labeled as "LIKE NEW" had a very lengthy inscription on one of the cover pages in the book. There were several books like it that said "like new" and I'm sure that some of them were actually worthy of that claim. This one was not.
The inscription had religious undertones which would even further upset some people. It is not the message that is upsetting to me, it's the money I paid for a book that was supposed to be "Like New"

This is easy to use, easy to understand, and gives a great deal of information in a nicely laid-out format. I'm teaching a physical assessment course, and this is an excellent adjunct to our textbook.
