I am a home health nurse whose patients frequently use natural and/or herbal medicines and this book is a great resource to help make sure their prescriptions and natural/herbal meds are compatible. I have also used it to inform my patients of the side effects and desired effects of their herbals and naturals. The book is an invaluaable aid to any nurse whose patients use herbals/naturals.

Mosby's Handbook of Herbs & Natural Supplements contains comprehensive monographs of a large number of herbs and supplements commonly found on the market today. Included in each monograph are origin, uses, availability and dosages, contraindications, side effects and adverse reactions, drug interactions, client considerations, pharmacology, and actions of the herb/natural supplement.

With use of nutraceuticals increasing among the general population, this book is an invaluable resource for healthcare professionals, and I very strongly recommend it.

For the most part it is a good book. And it contains important information.
But she left out some important herbs; like Madigascar Periwinkle and Phylanthus Uriniaria and Phylanthus Niuri and Elaphant foot. All of them are cancer fighters and they are used for Hepatitis B too.

This book has helped in various situations and saves a lot of time---I highly reccommend it for all health professionals to have and to be aware of all the new herbs and alternatives that many people are incorporating into their lives. A Godsend!

A must have reference for anyone who is a serious herbalist. I picked this item up in a bargain book store owned by Borders and am THRILLED with it. I paid only $2.99! Look around and see if you can find it for less! I am going back myself and seeing if I can get more copies since every herbalist friend I know will be sure to want a copy of this wonderful, fact filled edition.

A book that is well worth having to refer to... It has a lot of information that is very relevant

This is a great reference book for quick information. I do like it very much
for the need of uses, actions, dosages, and chemical class of an herb. Great
reference on drug interactions. The book covers many herbs, but, there could
be a lot more.

What I like most is the layout of this book. The layout is just like any other nursing drug handbook making it easy to follow. It also has an index of drug/herb interactions.

It's been 5 weeks since I ordered this book and have not yet arrived and don't know if if will.
