I am a first semester nursing student and I needed help on a quiz we were having on opioids, beta blockers, ace inhibitors and some other drug classes. I bought this helpful study aid and I'm so glad I did! It is full of little cartoons and little sayings to help you remember things about different drugs rather than just memorizing dull facts. It is spiral bound from the top and has wonderful, sturdy laminated pages. Love it! Got the pathophysiology one too.

Ok, now I am a good student, 3.8 gpa but went it came to my pharmacology class I could not come up with a way for my brain to grasp all the mess, their actions, interactions blah blah blah. This little book is a godsend. All the meds that are commonly used are in here with an easy way to learn them. I take it with me to clinicals so that when my instructor asked me about all of the meds I am going to give I have the answers. Thank you Mosby, you made my life a 100x easier.

Great overall. Only reason I gave one star off is because it doesn't have enough examples of what type of meds make up antibiotics, for example, has great notes on side effects, contraindications, actions/uses, etc., but when talking about aminoglycosides, isoniazid, cephlosporins it does not give examples of brand names that are common.

I liked the Mnemonic's and some of the visuals but, there was SO much more that could have been added or disregarded in this book.

I like having visual aids for learning and was hoping this would have most of the drugs I am expected to memorize over the summer before entering my next year of nursing school. Unfortunately, I would say at least half are not in here, so I have had to go to my regular drug guide or the internet. :(

This has been very helpful as a supplemental aid to my nursing school textbook. Some of the pictures are a little cheesy, but they stick in your mind.
