This was the first of a few books from the series which I purchased. I have always had a true admiration for the work of Franco Moschino and this is the first nationally published book about his work. The author has done a wonderful job researching the designer and wonderfully portrays his work.

Really just a catalogue of the company's 97 collection,

This was a disappointing purchase. I expected a brief overview of all of Moschino's collections - or at the very least, the highlights - however it appears that whomever assembled this book did not have access to any images or photos except for those available from 95-97, with a huge portion of them coming from the 1997 body of work. Since Franco Moschino passed away in 1994, clothing and art created in 1997 would obviously in no way represent the designer properly in a book titled 'Moschino'. While Franco Moschino only designed from 1983 to 1994 under his own name, with no disrespect to Rossella Jardini who was Moschino's design right hand during his life and has continued to helm the company, all of the most representative work of the brand was done in those years. Additionally disappointing is the use of graphics or nonsensical ramblings (though ironically this is kind of Moschino in flavour) does not take the place of research, biography and what should otherwise have been prose about Franco's work. Hopefully there is another better book somewhere out there.

A very biased viewpoint,

I bought this book with the anticipation that it would give a reasoned and systematic approach to the works and accomplishments of the Designer Moschino. It turns out to be a very biased book, which in no way depicts the true lack of ability this designer has in his marketing of patterned jeans. I would not reccomend this book to anyone who wants a true reasoned account of Moschino's creations, depicting the true nature and quality of his so called works of art.
