Great single disc retrospective up to '91,
By Paul Lawrence "'EJL'" (Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Moshers 1986-1991 (Audio CD)
OK here is my disclaimer. I'm not a huge fan of early Anthrax. So I'm not going to get all 'journo' and tell you some obscure track from Among the Living should be here instead of the better known tracks. What I will tell you is that as a single disc from the Connoisseur Collection this is very good value for money. All the better known tracks are here and they really do the band good service. A few spins of this will have any latter day heavy rock fan understanding what all the fuss was about. Early thrashers like Madhouse, towering thrash metal tunes like Caught in a Mosh and I Am the Law segue into the body of this release where socially aware stuff like Indians, funny off the wall tunes like I'm the Man and well known covers like Anti-Social and Got the Time live. Backed up by the heavy duty metal of the tracks from Persistence of time (the last studio effort prior to Belladonnas first exit) this is an ablum for those with a strong constitution and an ear for talent. An excellent taster for this band rendered perhaps a touch redundant in light of later, expanded compilations.

Great music from their glory period,
By Martin Lemos (Millbrae) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Moshers 1986-1991 (Audio CD)
I found this disc by accident, and I am glad that I did. In the early 90's, I was big into Anthrax, but when they changed lead singers, I lost interest. This disc has some of their best from 86 -91 and I have really enjoyed listening to it. From Madhouse to Bring the Noise, Anthrax brought us some of the best music metal ever had. Now I am looking forward to catching them on tour, now that Joey Belladonna will be singing on part of the show, and who know, maybe I will like this new singer also

CLASSIC !!!!!!!!!!!!,
This review is from: Moshers 1986-1991 (Audio CD)
