5.0 out of 5 stars Stripper clips take practice!
It is very entertaining reading the reviews of these stripper clips. It reminds me of someone who has purchased three balls for juggling and gives them a 1 star rating because he can't juggle.

Stripper clips are made from one piece of pressed steel. There is not a lot of variation from one to the other; for the most part it doesn't matter where they came...

3.0 out of 5 stars OK for holding ammo, too thin for rapid reloading
I have used the older and heavier clip previosly and had no issues, but had some issues when using this version during a vintage rifle match. The sheet metal is slightly thinner and during the rapid fire string tends to spread open if you are in a hurry. This doesn't happwen with the thicker clips which I will stick to in the future. Lower price-thinner and flimsier...

It is very entertaining reading the reviews of these stripper clips. It reminds me of someone who has purchased three balls for juggling and gives them a 1 star rating because he can't juggle.

Stripper clips are made from one piece of pressed steel. There is not a lot of variation from one to the other; for the most part it doesn't matter where they came from or who made them. Some of them are a little stiffer than others, but that is about it. The problems here have much more to do with the person using with them, their technique, their amount of practice, their strength and skill level.

There have been some videos on youtube that show people using different techniques with stripper clips. That might be a good place to start for the people here who have not been able to figure it out. I like to stabilize the front of the rounds between my first and second finger and push down hard toward the rear of the case with my thumb. Done right the rounds are in the magazine almost instantly and the clip pings off all on its own.

Obviously if your thumb or your hand pushes against the stripper clip there is a good chance you will cut it. It is made out of sheet metal for gods sake! That is what sheet metal does. Practice with gloves to begin with. I am no expert, but I can load and cycle (not fire) about thirty rounds a minute using these clips. I'll try to post my own youtube video one of these days.

Be patient my young friends!

Okay I was worried when i first ordered these.but for 2 dollars you cant complain.first off these are very simple to load first stick 5 rounds of 7.62x54r ammo into the clip.next slide back the bolt on your rifle till it wont go any farther.see that indent just where the tip of the bolt stops?that's where you slide the clip down.do not force the metal as the ammo goes down.NOT THE CLIP.press firmly on the top of the ammo just below where the tip of bullet meats the jacket while at the same time lifting the bottom shell with you index finger.now it should slide right in and the clip should pop out.easy. yes you can get cut it is sheet metal.after the first couple times loading it's easy.trust me if you own a mosin buy these!

These are not the best stripper clips in the world. But for 2 bucks, they work fine. You just have to know how to use them. Pick up on the front of the top round after you have insterted the clip into the stripper clip guide. Then place your thumb near the clip and push down. They'll feed. Just don't expect to jam in the clip and shove the rounds down. Mosin's don't feed that well to begin with, that's the problem with rimmed cases.

If your not sure, there is a couple of videos on youtube.com of how to do it.

If you get some sharp ones, just rub the sharp edges on a file or emery cloth to take the bite off of them.

Other than that, fast shipping at a great price. I'd buy from them again.

I just got these out of the package today and loaded them up and put them right into the gun. Extremely easy and they all worked very well. I think people's issue is they are not using enough force/pressure when pushing the rounds into the magazine. If you lower the amount of force you are using after getting the first couple rounds into the magazine the rest will just fall out or the stripper clip will fall off the gun. You need to keep a consistant amount of force on the top of the rounds to ensure that all of them enter the magazine.

5.0 out of 5 stars It worked for me., April 19, 2009

I ordered this item, I believe a couple months back. It came within a week, and I took it out of the package to try it out, and they seem to work fine. Despite what others had put into their reviews, they will work fine in a m91/30 or a m-44 mosin nagant's. You just have to know how to STRIP the ammo from the clip, and I'm pretty sure all you have to do is just google it, or look it up on youtube. It is up to you, and for me this product worked just fine and I have nothing negative to say about it so far. Besides it's just sheet metal, and of course your gonna cut you hand on it if mishandled.

4.0 out of 5 stars Practice practice practice, November 22, 2009
This review is from: Mosin Nagant M44 M91/30 5 per pouch Stripper clip (Misc.)
Practice makes perfect. I have ten clips of the style available through Amazon. They work as well as or better than the various original Soviet/Russian manufacture clips I've acquired over the years I've been buying cases of ammo from importers.

If you are used to using Mauser or Enfield strippers, avoid the "thumb down the middle" method and relearn the "thumb by the base, middle finger supporting the tip of the top bullet".

If you have a lot of different clip styles, it pays to keep them seperate. Each one will require slightly different geometry to use efficiently. You can also sort your different ammo types by putting them on different clips.

5.0 out of 5 stars They work really well, January 22, 2009
This review is from: Mosin Nagant M44 M91/30 5 per pouch Stripper clip (Misc.)
I ordered 25 stripper clips. They came a day earlier than expected and were very clean. They take a little getting used to but after a few tries its easy. I would recommend them and will probably buy more in the future. There are videos on youtube on how to load your rifle with the stripper clips if you have any trouble.

The stripper clips are super cheap and dont work too well out of the package but all you need to do is file the sharp edges round it up so it wont cut you and so it wouldnt be pressing on the bullet so much. They work great after filing loading your rifle is easy.

After Reading all of the reviews on this productMosin Nagant M44 M91/30 5 per pouch Stripper clip I was just a bit doubtful on how well they would work. However you cant go wrong for 2 dollars for 5 so I decided to pick up 2 packs just to try them out. THEY WORK. I did not get a chance to check out the Youtube How to videos but After playing gratuitous amounts of Red orchestra I kinda Figured it out on my own. I knowticed that the Clips were impossible to cycle the rounds through the stripper clips into my Mosin nagant at first. They were just stuck fast in the stripper clip. however After taking them out of the stripper clip and cycling them through it a few times with my hands the clips loosened up and I now have no problems with them at all. I did manage to nick the back of my thumb with one of them But after reading so many reviews about these "razor sharp" stripper clips I kinda expected it. I do plan on purchasing more of these even if it is just for a convenient way to hold my ammunition. Once again. how can you go wrong for only $2?
