| Cordless--One Trap Covers up to One Acre “Smart Technology” is the key to the advanced Mosquito Magnet® Executive. The easy-to-read LCD panel on the front of the unit offers enhanced diagnostics and 4 fuel savings modes that can extend the life of your propane tank up to 30 days. The sophisticated Mosquito Magnet Executive also “learns” to differentiate days from nights and features a temperature indicator that will automatically start-up/power-down the trap when the temperature reading is above or below 50° (temp in which the mosquito breeding process usually starts). The Mosquito Magnet Executive will let you know when the battery is low, the propane is out or even when the propane nozzle is clogged. The Mosquito Magnet Executive is cordless and rechargeable, so no external electrical power is needed, allowing placement of the unit away from the family area yet near the mosquitoes' breeding and resting areas. It protects up to a one-acre area and it's backed by Mosquito Magnet exclusive 360º Customer Support Program. New with this trap is also an innovative, rigid mosquito net especially engineered to maximize continuous, unblocked airflow (critical to the performance of the mosquito trap). The new net allows for easy disposal, eliminating any interaction with insects and features increased capacity to extend the life of the net before needing replacement. | |

| Tips and Advice Through proper placement upwind, the biting insects will be drawn to the trap, thereby reducing the chances of you becoming their target. The heavy-duty plastics and marine grade metals make it ideal for any harsh environments. By using a Mosquito Magnet-approved attractant – Lurex3 or Octenol, you will be able to increase your catch rate up to 10X. Also, proper airflow inside your Mosquito Magnet Executive trap is vital to keep suction at its best, that’s why we recommend you to replace the net as well as the attractant every 21 days with every propane tank refill. For optimal results, run your trap 24 hours a day in order to break the breeding cycle of the mosquitoes in your yard. Your trap will begin working immediately with noticeable results in 7-10 days. Allow a 4 week time frame to see significant results. | |

Works - Difficult to maintain,

This review is from: Mosquito Magnet MM3300 Executive Mosquito Trap (Lawn & Patio)
On the positive side: This product works. It catches lots of mosquitoes and nothing else. HOWEVER, you do have to replace the propane every 21 days.
On the downside: You will be lucky to get one season of operation out of it. I didn't. As far as I can tell it is difficult to repair - I haven't been able to repair mine yet. The design is seriously flawed in that accessing the parts that fail or need cleaning is difficult, and there are no directions. Sending it in every 3 months for repairs is not a viable option. Using the compressed air cleaner provided helps, but is no substitute for a better design. Being forewarned, I can assure you it catches mosquitoes as advertised when it works. Good luck.

reliability nightmare,
By tendermouth "tendermouth" (Buffalo, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Mosquito Magnet MM3300 Executive Mosquito Trap (Lawn & Patio)
In late Spring 2010, I purchased three Mosquito Magnet ("MM") Executive and two Independence mosquito traps. The simpler, less expensive, Independence worked well and reliably. The Executives have been a nightmare. I previously sent back two for repairs. The third will go back this week. The more-complex controls seem to be the issue. I've experienced high temperature shut downs when operating in the shade on 70 degree days. The "thermistor" failed in one of them. Another would not operate, was sent back and returned with a notation that everything was operating correctly.
I always go through all the recommended trouble shooting steps. This has its own challenges as some of their call center customer service women take an adversarial approach to dealing with customers. For example, I was told to bleed any air from the propane tank. I always test them with a tank currently on one of my other MM traps which is operating properly. If there were air in the tank, that unit would not be working. On the most recent call, I was told that since I was in NY state, the temperature was too cold to get the Executive to start as it has a low temp feature so it will not operate when it is too cold for the little critters to be flying. I explained that I tested all five units (prior to Winter storage) in my heated garage when it was 57 degrees outside and 67 inside. I was told that I was not allowed to operate the unit in the garage for safety reasons (asphyxiation). I completely vented the 4+ car garage after each test. I had to endure an argument from the customer service woman who insisted that it was too cold to operate in NY State in Nov. She didn't care that this trap has not worked since late September. Eventually she agreed to take it back for testing and service, if required. Their attitude stinks and the Executive is VERY unreliable. Three out of three have failed to operate for some portion of the season... about 4 months where I live. I requested to have the one-year warranty extended to a second year (another 4 months of use??) and was flatly refused. I cannot get to a higher authority at Woodstream Corp (maker of Mosquito Magnet) to plead my case. Nice way to do business!Mosquito Magnet MM3300 Executive Mosquito TrapMosquito Magnet MM3200 Independence Mosquito Trap

Don't waste your $$ on Mosquito Magnet Executive!,

I had very high hopes for this product. Alas, its a piece of junk. I set it up in May, and its barely worked since. The unit simply does not stay on. Yes, it has a low temperature shut off, but that doesn't explain why it shuts down for no reason in the middle of a warm day. Every time I check the unit its off. Yet it sucks down propane! The display screen does not give you useful information, and the instructions are unclear... for instance, how do I know when I need to replace the bag? At $30/bag, I don't want to replace it monthly but its very unclear to me what the best practice is. As for the unit being the most unreliable thing I've ever owned, I've finally called to have it serviced under the warranty and the "360 customer service" is lacking to say the least! The customer service hours are very limited so if you work during the day, plan to sneak away from your office for at least a 1/2 hour so you can wait on hold for someone to pick up. I've had to call 4 times - the first time was at night and they weren't open. The other 3 times were during my work day and I experienced very long hold times each time. OK, they offer a free shipping label for warranty work, but don't provide packaging materials for the unit. Not for nothing, but the unit is very large and awkwardly sized. I've had to pay the UPS store $20+ for a box and materials to safely send this expensive piece of junk back for warranty service! Its appalling. Worse yet, the free shipping label is for UPS Ground, which is the absolute slowest delivery method available... they offer to repair it 5-7 days after they receive it, which will likely be 2-weeks from when I ship it from Maine. THEN, I'm assuming they'll return it via UPS Ground. Its July 13th now - if I'm really lucky, I hope to have it back within a month. What a supreme waste of money. I've never written an online product review before but felt compelled to warn others not to waste your money, unless you enjoy spending $30/month on supplies and constantly troubling shooting a unit that might catch a few mosquitoes on a good day.
