Great illustrations, wish there were more of them, April 5, 2006
This review is from: Mosquitoes of North America (North of Mexico) (Hardcover)
This is a classic. The detailed full-body illustrations of each species at the back of the book are incredible, and I have not found anything comparable in any other mosquito key. The text of the book also includes excellent descriptions of the physical features and habits of each species. The only real drawbacks to this book are its age, which means that it is missing several recently introduced species and uses obsolete names for others, and the lack of illustrations within the text. The verbal descriptions are very precise, but a picture would be worth a thousand words. I highly recommend this as a reference, if only it could be reprinted and made a little more affordable.
