Wonderful adaptations of 4 Caldecott winning Multicultural books. "Mufaro's Beautiful Daughters" is a heart-warming story of two beautiful daughters, tested unknowingly, to reveal who is worthy to marry the King. The magnificent artwork and rich musical score help to make this a story for all to remember. "Why Mosq Buzz in People's Ears", narrated in the deep voice of James Earl Jones, is a traditional African tale portraying a comic chain of mishaps from Mosquito to Iguana - A folktale from Africa "A Story-A Story" tells the journey of Anansi, the Spider man. In "The Village of Round and Square Houses", a young girl from West Africa tells how men came to live in square houses, and women in round.

This video pairs beautifully with the book, imitating the art and style perfectly. The length of each story is ideal for classroom viewing, short but excellent. Onomatopoeic vocabularly decorates _Why Do Mosquitos Buzz in People's Ears_ while _A Story A Story_ (part of the third grade literature for California) lends itself well to sequencing exercises. _Mufasa's Beautiful Daughters_ has incredibly wonderful artwork. Superior. A pause works well for children to predict the outcome while identifying the genre, again skills that are part of the third grade curriculum. I don't mean to suggest that each isn't worth viewing on its own, without lessons. It's worth watching and rewatching.
