This book provides a guide to the application and interpretation of NMR, NQR, EPR and Mossbauer spectroscopy. These methods have many features in common and give considerable help in the identification of compounds, the determination of structures, and the study of bonding. Each technique is introduced from scratch and the emphasis throughout is on the way chemical information can be obtained from the spectra. The author includes some advice on the practicalities of sample selection and preparation, and looks at the factors which can complicate the spectra. While the book is written primarily from a practical viewpoint, theory is given in sufficient detail to allow appreciation of how each method works and how the spectra should be interpreted. Each chapter contains a set of problems and answers of graded complexity, and references to more detailed treatments.
