Celebrate composer Frank Loesser's centenary with this first time on CD issue of the original 1960 London cast recording of The Most Happy Fella! This CD stars distinguished Maori singer Inia Te Wiata, who appeared in many major bass roles at Covent Garden including the world premiere performance as Dansker in Britten's Billy Budd. As bonus tracks, the CD includes songs from the show performed by West End leading man Edmund Hockridge.

Inia Te Wiata is a wonderful Tony and comes the closest to equalling the brilliant Robert Weede. If the London cast had been given the three record treatment the Broadway cast got, I'd probably be hard pressed to name my favorite, as each has their strengths. If you're getting more than one 'Fella,' this is your second one, after the original.
