An excellent introduction to the basic issues,

This review is from: The 10 Most Important Things You Can Say to a Jehovah's Witness (Paperback)
If you don't know where to start with witnessing, Rhodes will launch you into an educated beginning.Rhodes has addressed priorities in sharing Christian truths with Jehovah's Witnesses concerning: the Watchtower Society, the New World Translation, God's name, Jesus as God, the Holy Spirit as God, the Trinity, salvation by grace through faith, the people of God, the afterlife and hell, and (most significantly) a relationship with Jesus Christ as life-changing. Rhodes summarizes Watchtower beliefs on each topic. He then offers brief, Biblical responses to the Watchtower views, organizing his information by icons in each chapter for quick-referencing. He also provides cross-references to his earlier work, "Reasoning from the Scriptures with the Jehovah's Witnesses." I think this book would be very helpful in developing a long-term, topical method of witnessing to a JW family member or friend. However, I would suggest balancing Rhodes' strategy with those found in additional books, such as Wilbur Lingle's "Approaching Jehovah's Witnesses in Love" and books by David Reed. Successful witnessing requires sensitivity, love, and a broad base of knowledge of the Witnesses.

One of the Best!,
This review is from: The 10 Most Important Things You Can Say to a Jehovah's Witness (Paperback)
I see from the various reviews that Jehovah's Witnesses are not pleased with this book! Rest assured that is an EXCELLENT sign! Since the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society opposes this book, that means it's a worthwhile read. How so? Their opposition GUARANTEES this book contains information the Witnesses don't wish you to know about. I'm a former Jehovah's Witness and I was taught 'Theocratic Warfare' when I was in the Watchtower Cult. This refers to the practice of 'lying for the truth,' of saying whatever you have to say, even lying through your teeth to protect the public image and teachings of the Watchtower Society.

Alright, everyone, just calm down.
First, Ron rocks and I love this book. Second, if you hate the book, don't just throw a bunch of insults around. Do yourselves (and the rest of us) a favor and EXPLAIN WHY. This means you point out specific issues (and page numbers) the author brings up and show us why they are factually incorrect. If you can't do THAT MUCH, then you are just embarrassing yourself (and those you represent). BTW, that is a classical method of critique; not one the Cults (or American educators) encourage people to know, much less use.

If you want to have a serious conversation with one who is a Jehovah's Witness, and not have them talking at you without you having any input to the conversation, then you will be better prepared after you read this book.

Has Great ideas on how to combat JW bible misconceptions. I liked the scripture references, that leave no doubt on how badly the Watchtower has twisted scripture to their own destruction. Invaluable for that next knock on your door!!

I have noticed that the books on witnessing to JW and Mormons get "bad" reviews, not from real readers as much as gungho JW and Mormons trying to stop us from knowing how to witness the truth to them. This is a good book. If you don't agree with the literature, don't bad mouth it, if you are secure in your faith you won't be upset with those of us who are also secure & must deal with the door to door religious people who insist on talking to me. I plan on being ready for them, how about YOU?

WOW Can I be Brainwashed too?,

This review is from: The 10 Most Important Things You Can Say to a Jehovah's Witness (Paperback)
I was looking at some of the reviews of this book and it is totally obvious that some JW's are writing bad reviews about this book. Most of the time when you question the teachings or say that you are no longer associated with or want any to do with JW's then you must be on Satan's side or you are worldly.
The following was written by a kids review it worries me to see the young being tampered with and brainwashed: "I hope all you people open your eyes and see because go is going to bring this world to an end and whoever didn't listen to his word is going to suffer and thank jehova witness for going to your door because you have to listen to them please listne to them and when the Pope for these year stops ruling jehova is going to come you'll seee don't worry!!" And this "when a jehova witness comes to your house ask them a qustion and they will answer it with the bible i bet you and this rude world who DOESN'T LISTNE IS GOING TO COME TO AN END when this last pope dies you bet beu still i don't want him to die because nobody wants to" This review was written before Pope John Paul death, Oh man we are all still here the world didn't come to an end. How many times will they proclaim the world is going to end? I think I will buy this book just because it makes them upset. By the way any of you who are looking to become a Jehovah's Witness check out Silent Lambs and the whole JW's hiding child molesters in the organization and if you think I am just saying negative stuff about witnesses just because I am EVIL or WORLDLY then check this out, at the bottom of the home page there is my cousin's story http://www.silentlambs.org/ And Yes I am a member of the Jehovah's Witness Protection Program

False Reviews,
By Jezzabel Sulun (Seattle WA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The 10 Most Important Things You Can Say to a Jehovah's Witness (Paperback)
I thought I should inform people looking for contorversial literature on Jehovah's Witnesses that a reviewer who claims to be "A Reader" from America, or various cities or states, is really a JW. He or she claims to be have been investigating the Jehovah's Witness cult, then was given these books. Well, this person has put pretty much the same review for almost all controversial literature on JWs on this site, and many other online sites. This person has not read all these books.

Here's the truth about JWs...,
By TheChristianTruth "TheChristianTruth" (Boston, MA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The 10 Most Important Things You Can Say to a Jehovah's Witness (Paperback)
It is plainly obvious that when faced with the choice of accepting the truth or holding on to Watchtower teachings, JWs prefer the false teachings. The Watchtower Corporation forbids its members from any kind of logical, free thinking, and listening to any dissenting opinion. And even when the Watchtower thought police are not within earshot, the JWs are too scared to think for themselves, to listen to reason and logic, and they will blindly defend the nonsense teachings with distorted scriptures ripped out of context.
JWs will foam at the mouth upon reading this, but I say to all of you JWs, PROVE that you love the truth! Question the Watchtower Corporation! I DARE YOU TO OPEN YOUR MINDS AND THINK! I dare you! Prove you are not brainwashed! Analyze your corporation's teachings with an open mind. I guarantee you will understand that your corporation is an organization of MEN, that proclaimed itself a prophet, and made prophesies that never came true (false prophet.) Analyze your NWT and see for yourself how corrupted it is, and see that the Corporation is CURSED by the apostles (for preaching a different doctrine) and cursed by Jesus (for change more than one iota and one tittle of the Scriptures!) I DARE YOU, but my dares are in vain for the JWs are cowards, afraid of finding out the truth that their faith rests on the lies of a false prophet, and not on our God and Saviour Jesus Christ. Did you know that God's name is not Jehovah? You identiy yourselves with no God, no Saviour. You are blind and brainwashed. Gutless, spineless people. Prove me wrong, I dare you!
