I had the privilege to listen to this CD at a client's home one afternoon while doing a 90 minute massage. It was wonderful! This was my first opportunity to get to amazon to buy this CD and I'm thrilled to be the first to tell how great this CD is. I've only heard one of the two CDs and the one I listened to was nearly 75-80 minutes long. Every tract sounded very clear with no backgroung noise. You won't be disappointed!! If you feel tense or stressed, listening to these selections will calm your nerves and renew your spirit. From tract to tract, each has mind easing flow that can help enable you to relax your breathing and clear your thoughts. You will be filled with serenity and peace. In my profession I have listened to many different types of relaxing and classical variations of compositions so I can tell you that you will not regret buying this collection of music.

I first developed a taste for this music a number of years ago when my daughter started playing in the orchestra. The reason I made this purchase however, was because I have a great deal of difficulty with anxiety and I was looking for ways to find help. I love these CDs. It helps so much to sit and close my eyes and enjoy the music. The CDs are full of beautiful music.

This two CD set is a tremendous bargain--both CDs have some of the most beautiful classical music ever written. Great performance of each piece--a joy to listen to.

On Disc One: Pachelel Canon; Mozart Eine Kleine Nachtmusik; Beethoven Fur Elise; Tchaikovsky String Quaret #1; Debussey Claire de Lune; Janacek Idyll for Strings; Albinone Adagio in G Minor; Debussy The Girl with the Flaxen Hair; Bach Air on a G String; Williams Greensleeves; Handel Largo from Xerxes; Bach Fugue in C Minor; Holst The Planets; Bach Goldberg Variations and Barber Adagio for Strings.

On Disc Two: Debussy Prelude in the Afternoon of a Faun; Grieg Holberg Suite; Sibelius Valse triste; Bach Concerto in F Minor; Dvorak Serenade for String; Liszt Liebestraume; Bach/Gounod Ava Maria; Chopin Etude in E major; Borodin String Qartet No. 2; Debussy Arabesque; Ravel Pavane for Dead Princess; Vivaldi The Four Seasons-Largo; Satie Gymnopedic; Beethoven Moonlight Sonata; and Mozart Piano Concerto No. 21.

A fantastic set of two CDs for anyone who loves beautiful melodic classical music. I intend to order a second set to keep loaded in my car's CD player.

I was not really a classical music fan but I am now. I purchased this cd for my 14 year old grand-daughter, not knowing we would both enjoy the music so much. She has always enjoyed classical music along with all of the other teen music, rap, rock, country, etc.

Also, it really helped being able to listen to parts of the music before purchasing.

First, let me begin by saying that I accidentally listed this review for a similar CD, when it was meant for this one. So, if you read that already, please know I am not just copying, it was an error!

I don't know a lot about classical music, but I wanted a CD that would be relaxing and would highlight some of the more well known classical songs. Browsing on Amazon, I cam across this CD and previewed the songs and loved it! Since it arrived in the mail, it is all I listen to! It is so very relaxing. I tend to have a little road rage at times, so I play it in the car and feel very relaxed. It really does seem to melt my troubles away. If you don't know much about classical music but want something relaxing that will help you learn some of the more famous songs, this CD is for you. Actually, this CD is for anyone! I am so glad I bought it, and it is great for a first timer like me. Don't hesitate...buy it now. You will be glad you did. I love it so much that I am previewing again...(left my CD's in the car!).

I bought this 2 CD set for $5, which is a great deal. I have no problem with the choices they made in the music selections. It is all nice and very relaxing for what it is--and what it is is just a sampler of "Classical" music, used in the popular sense of the word. Technically, "Classical" refers to a certain time period of music beginning, I think, with Haydn and ending with Beethoven, so the only truly Classical pieces on these CDs are the ones by Mozart and Beethoven--as if that matters. Almost every selection comes from a longer work of music. What you are getting with each song is just one movement of what is a three (or more) movement work. You should be aware of this if you are new to "Classical" music and you are trying to build a library of this music. If that describes you, then this CD set is not for you--or at best, you might want to listen to selections from some music you might not have heard before so that if you find something you really like you can get the entire work on another CD. If you don't care at all that these are not the full musical works as the composers intended their music to be listened to, then by all means enjoy!

As far as sound quality goes, these CDs sound okay mostly, good on a few selections (especially the Borodin and the Dvorak), and kind of weird on anything with piano in it. The piano doesn't quite sound real to me. I don't know if anybody else noticed. If this is going to be background music while you do something else, it probably doesn't matter, but if you really want to listen to this music then the piano sound might bother you. Speaking of piano music: this version of Beethoven's "Fur Elise" has background string music, which kind of threw me for a loop because I had only heard it as solo piano music before.
