BLUE

HER DARLING D.A.

Sergeant Whitney Shea had six slain hookers, an elusive serial killer—and infuriatingly sexy Assistant District Attorney Bill Taylor—on her very full plate. The seemingly unsolvable case had the city—and Whitney—in turmoil. Because years before, Whitney had watched the long, tall lawyer who'd made himself her partner lock her beloved father behind bars. Yet during those darkest hours, and now, amid this career-making-or-breaking case, Taylor could rile her temper, stoke her passion…and infiltrate her defenses like no other. Department gossip claimed the darling D.A. was sour on romance, but Whitney only knew how he made her feel:most precious, most wanted…most loved?

Love in the line of duty.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great romantic police procedural, May 29, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Most Wanted (Silhouette Intimate Moments, 948) (Paperback)
Oklahoma City homicide detective Whitney Shea worked the street as a hooker in a sting operation to catch a serial killer who has murdered six prostitutes in three years. At the end of her undercover evening, Whitney bagged fifty johns. However, the District Attorney bonded out her first catch of the day, Andrew Copeland, son of the powerful and wealthy Stone Copeland, without him spending a second in a holding area. Whitney complains to the messenger, Assistant District Attorney Bill Taylor that Copeland could be the killer.

Impressed by Whitney's fervor, Bill wants to help her with her investigation. Under the guise of the newly created cooperation program, he joins her serial killer investigation. The killer knows that Whitney seeks him out and begins a game of cat and mouse. The killer deliberately leaves clues for Whitney. Meanwhile, she and Bill work together, but remain wary of relationships after being burned in the past by the opposite sex. However, the most unwanted emotion of all, love has entered the equation.

Maggie Price has quickly become a fan favorite for her highly intense romantic suspense novels such as PRIME SUSPECT and THE MAN SHE ALMOST MARRIED. Her new intrigue, MOST WANTED, is an excellent tale that the police procedural audience would enjoy as much as the romance crowd. The story line provides the audience with insight into the police-district attorney's office while wrapped inside a clever investigation and a warm romance. Characters from her two previous novels augment this tale with a deep feel of law enforcement as well as coming home sense. Ms. Price hurdles two genres within a novel that will leave readers seeking her other releases.

5.0 out of 5 stars through and through a good book..., December 22, 1999

I kept second guessing myself (and the author) trying to figure out whodunit. The mystery came through more than the romance, but by the end I believed that these 2 would survive til the end, they deserved their happily ever after. The heroine had a real issue to overcome; her shame of her father's past.

How do you resolve loving a man who has done something so against your life's work? Or loving a man who is indirectly responsible for your family's pain? Ms. Price finds a way.And she does it well.
