5.0 out of 5 stars The Blenders have done it again--these guys are amazing!!!!, December 1, 2005

This is the 4th of The Blenders Christmas offerings (the 3rd being a composite of songs from the 1st 2 recordings) and it does not disappoint. The a cappella version of "I Wonder as I Wander" moved me to tears. Don't let the "a cappella" label fool you--this is like no a cappella you've ever heard. Percussion aside, these arrangements are so rich that you'd SWEAR there is instrumentation, and their execution is flawless! Very contemporary--something for everyone. None of my Christmas recordings sees as much play as my Blenders cd's. You'll want them all in your collection!

5.0 out of 5 stars I have always hated Christmas music, but....., March 16, 2008

I have always hated Christmas music -- but the Blenders have me humming along and anticipating the holiday season -- I have a separate iPod playlist for their stuff (OK, OK, a litttle James Taylor as well) so I don't have to listen to anything else. Their recordings are beautiful, joyous, funny, and exemplify the spirit of the holidays. Even if you're a holiday grinch like myself, you'll love their stuff. Ho ho ho!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Blenders are the Kings of Christmas!, May 16, 2007

This review is from: Most Wonderful Time (Audio CD)
The Blenders are great at what they do, and they are best at singing A Capella, and Christmas music is their forte. They have put out four Christmas CDs, one of which is a greatest hits type of CD of their Christmas music (Holiday Best). We have the other three CDs including this one, which are all great Christmas music. We have been known to listen to these CDs even when it isn't Christmas. They have great arrangements and cover traditional Christmas music as well as having some nice originals and lesser known Christmas songs. There are no repeats of songs between the three CDs which include Nog (which has also been released under the name Christmas A Capella style with the Blenders) When It Snows, and Most Wonderful Time. These three are our all time favorite Christmas CDs.

I've been a fan of a cappella music for a long time and have listened to many groups in search of incredible harmony. I have to say that this christmas album is one of the best I own and their version of I Wonder As I Wander is the single most amazing a cappella song I've ever heard in my life. This is my favorite christmas album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blenders Christmas Album, January 1, 2008
This review is from: Most Wonderful Time (Audio CD)
This is the second Blenders album we've purchased. Their sound is contemporary, but doesn't lose the spirit of Christmas in their singing. I guess this group is gospel, but their sound is wonderful, cheerful, uplifitng and makes one happy that it's Christmas.

5.0 out of 5 stars ALMOST the best Christmas album in the pop world!, December 13, 2009

Yes, I am serious about that statement. The ONLY thing wrong with this album is, it's not "When It Snows", their previous holiday offering! I am so impressed with the arrangements and production showcasing this remarkable quartet, that I want to give one to everybody because they deserve to be better-known. Their "Frosty/Here Comes Santa Claus" medley, "Deck The Halls" and "It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year" would make any party jump...and none of this prepares you for the retro-sparkled "All Wrapped Up" that closes this slick set. Plus, a swingin' cover of Michael Frank's "I Brought You A Plastic Star" just makes me love 'em more. And STILL, I would suggest you look into their 2002 disc, "When It Snows" first because it is just sooo smooth and new-jack hip.

Yes, the bass is boosted in the mix, and yes, there's plenty of auto-tune that most folks this talented would ever need in a lifetime (but here it's used for light effect rather than covering flubs), but either of these discs are honest demo-quality recordings that will put the green back into any tired fir tree.

5.0 out of 5 stars Most Wonderful Time., December 8, 2008

I had a most wonderful time listening to this disc. Not a stinky track on here, and several standouts you will love.

I especially liked the disco tune. It had me laughing all the way through. A reasonable facsimile of 1980 state of the disco art just before punk restored a little grunge to the pop/rock world.

The fun Christmas songs are done with the standard Blenders polish and sheen, with a lot of wit and style to make you smile. The carols in the songlist are done with reverence and grace, without losing that stylish Blenders sound.

I've been hooked on this group since before 'Nog.' Haven't found any male singing group that could touch these guys for sheer technical mastery and great literature. Kudos to whichever of them is doing their arranging.

Please don't stop making music together guys. We Blenders fans are out here, credit cards at the ready, for your next Christmas release. If you can make it similar in style and concept to the previous three, with the same humor and jazz in your charts, you'll have another winner on your hands.

If you haven't heard this CD or any Blenders Christmas disc yet, do yourself a favor and listen to the streaming clips and then just buy one of them. 'Nog,' 'When It Snows,' 'Most Wonderful Time...' doesn't matter which. You'll love it if you enjoy hip arrangements sung expertly and with a touch of wit.
