Book Description

August 24, 2006
Life is full of coincidences that do not seem to happen by chance. It's as if there is a hand guiding each one of us to find answers of eternal significance. In this modern day parable, Richard Mann is a stunning success by the world's standards, but he secretly longs for a peace and tranquility that cannot be found in the rat race of business and the struggles of raising teenagers. He longs for Sundays when he can get away to go sailing. But even the warm breeze and the wind in his hair cannot take away the dread of going back to work every Monday. Like many others in today's culture, his selfish desire for happiness takes over and causes him to run away from his family and life in Colorado. He buys a yacht and ends up on a journey that can only be explained as divine providence. His journey brings him into the presence of a man that seems to know the real secret to true happiness.

This review is from: Moteké - The Redemption of Richard Mann (Paperback)
Moteke is a simple story of a most profound and much needed message. In a hurried society where selfishness and ego rule, this book takes us on a journey to the discovery of what life is ultimately about. Rick Schenker, through his humble character Moteke, gently reminds us that love, joy, patience, hope, and kindness to each other is the true message of Jesus and the secret to real happiness.

I loved it!!!

Moteke, the redemption of Richard Mann, touched me deeply and provided fuel for the on going inner search that we all experience.

Told in perfect parable style, it can be read in a day or two. It was inspirational and entertaining. I would recommend it to everyone. I've ordered copies to give to family for Christmas.

5.0 out of 5 stars Intern's Review, September 28, 2006
This review is from: Moteké - The Redemption of Richard Mann (Paperback)
I had the privilege of reading an advance copy of Moteke-The Redemption of Richard Mann as part of an internship for my Bachelors Degree at Penn State. I cannot help but say that everyone should read this book.

I found it so inspirational; I couldn't put it down until I finished it. It is true that the book is a work of fiction, but it is much more than that--it is a modern day parable. I found myself personally challenged to evaluate my own life in regard to the tremendous message expressed by the sacrifice and kindness of Moteke'. I plan to give copies away to many of my friends and relatives.
