Strong "modern" performance, November 23, 2008

This CD is a strong representation of the kind of Bach performance that we were used to before historically informed playing became popular. The choir is, to my ears, a little too large and occasionally drowns out the instrumental ensemble. in addition, the larger vocal emsenble makes it far more difficult for Mr. Ericson to add indivdual creative touches that might make this recording special. still I listen to this frequently, right after I put the lights out at night.
