5.0 out of 5 stars My second perchase of the same book. Book #1 loved to rags.
This is the definative mursery rhyme book. It has all the classics and a few I was not familliar with. Either way, beautifully written. Illistrations you will want to frame, and the children are facinated by at an early age. This will be my 2nd purchase of this title since my grandchildren can't get enough. 2.0 out of 5 stars More of a picture book
Though the illustrations ARE lovely, the nursery rhymes are incomplete, shortened versions of the real thing. If you want a picture book, you can't go wrong with this one, but for the classic Mother Goose nursery rhymes, sadly, this book does not deliver.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not a complete collection, March 30, 2007
This review is from: Mother Goose: A Collection of Classic Nursery Rhymes (Hardcover)
If you are looking for a nursery rhymes book that your child can read, then this is a good one. Otherwise, if you want a book to pass down to generations, this is a poor selection. This book only contains short clips of nursery rhymes - not the whole thing. If you are looking for a complete collection of a nursery rhymes book, keep looking, this is not the one.

5.0 out of 5 stars buy this book!, August 2, 2010
This review is from: Mother Goose: A Collection of Classic Nursery Rhymes (Hardcover)
My 16 month old daughter wakes up asking for this book! "goose!" she says. This book is the best Mother Goose book I have found yet! I have a few other Mother Goose books, but this is the one she always wants. The pictures are so beautifully done that you cant help but enjoy the classic nursery ryhmes even more. I found this at a used book store but wanted to place a review on Amazon because I think that highly of the book. The only thing bad about it is that you may find yourself reading it over and over because your child loves it so much. But that is probably a beautiful thing because its a bonding time that creates memories to cherish. As many times as I read this book in a day, I never tire of it because the illustrations are true art. This is a book we will always treasure as a family keepsake. I look forward to sharing this beautiful book with my grandchildren. Hopefully you will too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect collection of Traditional Rhymes for Preschool, October 20, 2008

I've borrowed this collection from my public library, and now it's time to buy a copy for my daycare. I have some very short board book collections of Mother Goose that are appropriate for children two and younger, but this collection is perfect for three to five-year old children. I teach preschool and have searched and searched for the perfect collection of classic nursery rhymes. Michael Hague's illustrations are lovely art, not cartoonish like so many nursery rhyme collections. The selections of rhymes are not complete but they are sufficient. Most of the better known rhymes like "Little Boy Blue", "Mary Had a Little Lamb", "Three Blind Mice", and others are here, along with lesser known. But what I particularly like is that the entire book of 58 pages can easily and enjoyably be read in one sitting. I like to read and reread stories and rhymes that I want my children to remember. It is a joy with this collection of Mother Goose by Michael Hague.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly Right, December 17, 2007

This review is from: Mother Goose: A Collection of Classic Nursery Rhymes (Hardcover)
The Mother Goose book I purchased was exactly right. The old illustrations were just what I was looking for. Wish it were just a bit longer but I looked everywhere and could not find the book except on
Amazon.

Thank you, Francene Lamb

4.0 out of 5 stars Mother Goose, September 17, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Mother Goose: A Collection of Classic Nursery Rhymes (Hardcover)
This book is wonderful if you are looking for one that children can read, and keep interest in. However, if you're looking for an heirloom book, this will disappoint you. This book contains only shortened versions of nursery rhymes - it contains some that are rarely found in other rhyme books, but again, these are shortened. Beautiful and unique pictures, small children may not appreciate these as much as the parents.....
