This review is from: Mother Of His Son (Silhouette Special Edition) (Paperback)
The Mother of His Son focuses on the relationship of Beth and Luke. Due to a grouchy grandmother, Beth and Luke are separated for sixteen years. After sixteen years, Beth receives a phone call about her father's deathbed wish and rushes home with her fifteen year old son, Ryan. After a few weeks, Luke and Beth reaffirm their love. The story drags in places and never really achieves the momentum it needs to be a great story. Most of the plot is predictable and the characters do not have a lot of depth. After sixteen years apart, they should have shown more emotion. The story is not very realistic and loses the reader at times.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Woman He Had never Stopped Loving, March 20, 2011
This review is from: Mother Of His Son (Silhouette Special Edition) (Paperback)
From the Back:

What under heaven had driven Bethany Martin from his arms? What had made her abandon their dreams, disappear without a trace? For years Luke Ryan had asked those questions - and cursed Beth's betrayal. But he'd never stopped loving her. Not for a heartbeat.

Now Bethany was back. And Luke vowed to learn the truth. For by Beth's side stood the son Luke had never known he had. His long-lost love - and newfound child - nearly broke his heart anew. After all these years could he piece together the cruel lies that had torn them apart? Could he make his shattered family whole?

Review: This story had a very small town Americana theme, but was quite enjoyable overall. The characters were all likable and I liked that there was even information on the motives behand the scheming grandmother.
