I bought this cd after hearing "Mother Mojo" on a local radio station. This song is a real roof shaker.... I would love to see a band do a Led Zeppelin(ish) electric version of this song. Kind of like Led Zeppelin's version of "Bring it on Home".... This cd is a great example of good ol' streat blues.... A couple of awsome performers, out on the streets, playing for the masses, having fun, and making the croud feel good and good to feel alive..... His name maybe Satan.... "but he ain't no devil"... hell, I've even the man do a cameo apperance on Sesame Street... no... that's no joke.... buy the cd... and feel good to just walk down the street and enjoy life....... I hope these two guys decide to do a dvd.... These guys need to be seen. Mr. Satan and his "one man band" set up is a old great street performance.... And with the youth being stuck in front of the TV, a dvd would do wonders to show the great music of blues... and performance, something these guys do very very well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Two man wrecking crew of street blues!, June 17, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Mother Mojo (Audio CD)
Satan and Adam produce more incredible blues from two people then the average ten piece band! Satan on vocals, guitar and percussion and his sidekick Adam on harmonica, weave a sophisticated web of raw blues that at times puts the hair on the back of your neck on end. They met and began playing together on the streets of Harlem, and the soul of their music continues to find itself somewhere east of 125th Street and Amsterdam Avenue. This band captured the attention of U2, who included them on their Rattle & Hum Live CD.

I am a lifelong blues fan, dating back to listening to WNJR out of Newark under the covers at night as a little kid on a farm in North Jersey in the '50s. These guys are great, and play off each other perfectly. Five stars!

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice groove, August 13, 2008
This review is from: Mother Mojo (Audio CD)
Satan and Adam really outdid themselves on this one. I'm a harmonica player and can appreciate Adam Gussow's playing. He has a fresh flowing style and I really enjoyed his grooves, especially on watermelon man. He uses some technically advanced stuff in some of his playing and any harmonica player can appreciate his nuances. Mr Satan is a most excellent soul and is downhome as you can get. I would highly recommend listening to their soulful work.
