5.0 out of 5 stars If only all computer books were this good, June 27, 2011

Woody knocked it out of the park with this one. Funny, informative, irreverent, honest, easy-to-follow, and ultimately satisfying to the soul. Of course the Windows of today is not the Windows of this book.

There has never been another technology author like Woody and I'm sure his publishers would never let him do this again.

Note: The other 'Mother' books were just as good.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Thrill When It Was New, December 4, 2009
This review is from: The Mother of All Windows Books: Being a Compendium of Incantations, Imprecations, Supplications, and Modifications Known to Appease the Deamons Within Windows (Paperback)
Of course, it's dated now, but this is still a good explanation of some of the basics of computing like displays and sound. It was so much fun to read! I reread it for fun. I've never found anything quite like it.
