Rocks,

The album is rock n roll greatness, and might have a couple of "hits" on it, if it wasn't for the cussin'. Buy it, and go and see them live in your town.

None Better,
By A Customer
This review is from: Motherfuckers Be Trippin' (Audio CD)
This record, and the Supersuckers in general are cocky, genius, hard rock that can't be beat. Just shut up and enjoy it already. These boys deserve more beer money, and more encouragement from rock fans in general. See them live - you WILL have fun, and {you} WILL be rocked.

Rock - Alive and Evil!,
By Tombstone Tim (NYC, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Motherfuckers Be Trippin' (Audio CD)
Although a little late with my review, let me say, Rock is Alive and Evil, thanks to the Greatest, most underated, Rock-n-Roll Band in the World, Supersuckers. Motherf**kers Be Trippin is kickass, stripped down to the bone rock. With songs like Rock-N-Roll Records (ain't sellin' this year), Rock Your Ass, Pretty F**ked Up, A Goodnight For My Drinkin', Someday I Will Kill You, The Nowhere Special, etc, it delivers the goods and gets better with each listen. Furthermore, you'll be wondering how such a great band is virtually unrecognized by today's music media?(I ponder this everyday)
P.S. Once you've digested M.F.B.T, check out The Evil Powers Of Rock-N-Roll, The Sacrilicious Sounds Of The Supersuckers, La Mano Cornuda, The Smoke Of Hell and The Songs All Sound The Same, because some Rock-N-Roll records ain't sellin' this year and that's a damn shame.

Kings of all things ROCK!,

There are few things in life as fulfilling as a new Supersuckers record. We all know what those "few things" are, so I won't waste time explaining. This album reaches a place that I think they've strived to arrive at for a lot of years - rock 'n' roll nirvana. The only disappointment is that this CD wasn't a double. I could go song by song and recommend each one for different reasons but I would rather just comment by saying "Rock 'n' Roll Records Ain't Selling This Year," so buy the damned thing and toss a dime the band's way. Never been a more genuine guy than Eddie Spaghetti and he and his band deserve the respect too often reserved for over-blown, over-inflated rock stars. They've never tried to rewrite the bible, but their chapter in rock 'n' roll history is rewritten every time they enter the studio. Good job, boys, I can't wait to see what the future holds.

First let me begin this review by saying I'm a BIG Supersuckers fan...For a band that took 4 years to release a new record I feel ripped off. To anyone not familiar with this band up to this point, this will be a fine rock record. It WILL rock them. It WILL roll them. To anyone who has followed the band for a long time, they will know they are capable of a LOT more. This band has alway walked the fine line between great rock and roll and rock cliche'. In some of my more disturbing moments listening to them I was transported back to the late eighties and imagined the band with teased up hair and pink BC Rich guitars, only to be brought back to earth by SOMETHING in the music. And though most of the time they've staggered on the double yellow line of the sobriety test of rock and roll, they've always fallen on the side of great rock and roll. Seems like the band has imbibed in too much of their own hype this time around and fallen on the side of rock cliche'. Even in their most remedial moments in the past, their has ALWAYS been something in each song to hook you. Whether it was the double Les Paul guitar attack, a funny story, a clever play on words, or thunderous drums. The tongue was always planted firmly in cheek. Not so on this CD. Sure it's loud, it's fast, and it rocks, but this is a big, dumb rock record. And I emphasize dumb. And it sounds like they rehashed a lot of their old hooks. I mean some parts of songs are ripped completely from older records. You could literally sing the lyrics of some of the older songs right along with some of the new ones without missing a beat...Oh yeah, and the production stinks too...If you're looking to pick up a CD of this band go with any of their earlier records although I'm partial to Sacrilicious or Evil Powers of Rock and Roll. Now those albums are snapshots of a band at the peak of it's powers. Or go for How The Supersuckers Became The Greatest Rock and Roll Band In The World. Great compilation of their earlier material.

Lives Up to Its Title,
By
This review is from: Motherfuckers Be Trippin' (Audio CD)
The title of this album is the most brilliant thing I've ever seen. It's accurate too, both for the band and the listener. For some reason my local record merchant has assigned the Supersuckers to the Alternative Country department. That's inaccurate, as are all categorizations. Only one label applies to the Supersuckers: Rock n' Roll. They deliver no-nonsense four-on-the-floor straight-up rock with no apologies, with the attitude of a bunch of nogoodniks who are looking to cause some damage and get outta town. The sound is rooted in solid blues and punk, with hysterical lyrics about little more than partying, getting revenge, and raising hell. Though the band does get unexpectedly serious in the middle of the album, as "Sleepy Vampire" and "A Good Night for My Drinkin'" load up on two different types of self-pity. At the opposite extreme, the band rocks out extra hardcore in the unforgiving crushers "Bruises to Prove It" and the self-explanatory "Someday I Will Kill You." If you're looking for rowdy rock to blast out of your van while knocking over a dumpster then waking up the next morning in a ditch, the Supersuckers are for you. [~doomsdayer520~]

welcome to what I call music,

I think I can sum this cd up in very few words....this is what the world of rock needs right now! They're a band thats not scared to show their rock roots, and show them full on. Just listen to the song "Sleepy Vampire" (which as a side note is my favorite on the cd) and it'll change you immediatly. The song "Rock Your Ass" is another one that I think that'll make you realise that these boys are the best around. Buy a few beers then throw this bad boy on and I bet you'll understand where I'm coming from. Get ready for the assault and get ready for the keepers of Rock N'Roll to hit your ears. It'll bring a smile to your face at how cool these guys are, and yes I've seen them live many times and let me say that they ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

So bad A$$,
This review is from: Motherfuckers Be Trippin' (Audio CD)
Possibly the best rock and roll album of the last decade. Not a bad song on here. Eddie Spaghetti is a lyrical genius. There is nothing else I can say, because this album is so great, any praise I can bestow upon it will seem like empty ramblings. Just buy it for yourself.
