Elizabeth has a unique talent for putting into words all the highs and lows of motherhood. When I read this book, I found so many moments that were IDENTICAL to my own experiences as a mother. It helped me put things in perspective as a mother...she knows how to laugh at mommy mistakes and how to celebrate our children.

Hysterical...and I'm not even a mom!,
This review is from: Motherhood Is Not For Wimps: No Answers, Just Stories (Paperback)
Schwarzer's writing had me hysterical, gasping for air, tears streaming down my face...and I'm childless! So even if you aren't a parent, you will enjoy this book.Schwarzer has a deft hand when it comes to changing gears from the hysterical to the poignant, and I found myself sliding from insane giggles to lump-in-the-throat wet eyes without a second thought...then back to the giggles with tears still streaking my face! Though you might want to savor each "vinaigrette" (her term) one at a time like chocolate truffles, beware -- you'll probably be tempted to consume the whole book all at once!

I loved this book! I've been reading Liz's blog for more than a year and her new book did not disappoint. Her whit, sense of humor and positive outlook on life are just as evident in her book as they are on her blog. The book is broken down into "post" format, just as it is on her blog so it makes it easy to read in small bits. This is especially helpful if you have a busy life and/or children of your own. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for great read!

Schwarzer pulls no punches when it comes to the everyday experiences of being a mother. From the fierce love a mother feels for her child to the mind-numbing lack of sleep to the awe inspiring workings of the toddler mind Schwarzer keeps you laughing and thinking. She's a woman who really understands that parenthood is truly the toughest job you'll ever love.

I don't know what I would have done without this book.. she celebrates the amazing moments, and just as importantly lets me know I'm not the only one through the hard moments. Her insight and gift kept me sane.. both after my first kid and now that I have two kids I need to know what happens!!

Motherhood is certainly not for wimps, and this book perfectly captures all of those little parental moments that make us smile, want to tear our hair out, and cry by turn. Both hilarious and touching, I think most parents can identify with the stories in the book. I know I sure did :)

I have been reading DaMomma's blog for a year, and it never fails to bring a laugh or tear--sometimes both. This book didn't disappoint. I lend it to all the moms I know that are going through a tough time. It has gotten me and my friends through some rough times.

I only found her blog a few months ago so I loved reading the book about when Mary was younger. Her writing is fun and easy to read. Honestly, it made me wish I had written down more of the things my daughter did and said at that age. It would make a great book to give a new mother or anyone who spends time with young kids.

Liz just has a way of sharing every day moments with people in the most entertaining, thought provoking way. It's a relief to know that motherhood isn't the sunshine and roses that some people tell you it is. This book gives you the hair pulling, nail biting, ya gotta love 'em, don't 'cha? moments of motherhood. I bought a copy of this book for myself as well as one to give to my friend who is expecting and getting ready to enter the crazy world of motherhood.
