useful and compact,

This review is from: Motherpeace Tarot Guidebook (Paperback)
Round tarot cards can challenge the reader--this book can guide the reader in her interpretation of the many possible positions of the Motherpeace cards. Vogel gives a general description of each card, then a brief discussion of its meaning when upright, tilted left or right, and reversed. The book does not go into as much depth as Vicki Noble's books about Motherpeace cards, but this can be an advantage if you're doing readings and want to get straight to the point. It also features a black and white reproduction of each card along with the interpretation, which is helpful if you're just reading the book and not your cards. I wouldn't recommend this as your only Motherpeace book, but it is very practical as a basic tool for readings. It gives much more information than the booklet in the box of cards, but doesn't overwhelm you when you just want to know what the five of Swords means when you draw it tilted left.

The Female Side of Mythology,
This review is from: Motherpeace Tarot Guidebook (Paperback)
Vicki Noble and Karen Vogel have done a great job in bringing out a Tarot Deck with such interesing pictures. I have the MotherPeace book to go along with the cards. It gave me an excellent view of the female side of mythology. Orthodox religions have been male centered and thus not well balanced. I love the art of these cards the most: Magician, Hanged One, World, Fool, Death, High Pristess, Shaman of Discs, Daughter of Discs, 9 of Discs, Priestess of Wands, Tower, Wheel of Fortune, 6 of Cups, 6 of Swords...so anyway, get the Motherpeace book and Tarot Deck. Awe, at random, I pick a card: 3 of Cups. Let the poets drink for their inspiration - and take long walks. Do they need the Temperance Card or maybe more wine and the light of the moon....lucky for you, eh.

I like this little book and find it very helpful as a quick reference and forward/reverse meanings of each card. I'm glad I have it, but I don't feel it stands alone.

This is a very welcome approach to Tarot oriented towards women. It is as if you were receiving blessings from your grandmother. I bought it with the travel size cards. It's a good addition to any Tarot collection.

I absolutely love Motherpeace. It is special because each card can have 4 different messages. These cards have been a guide to myself and many others who have sought help from me. I highly recommend this deck.
