Great - very helpful!
This book is fantastic - it shows the types of impossible moms in the context of a woman's lifespan - from infancy to adulthood (for instance, the "seductress" type of mother is the topic of the chapter of the time of the daughter's life when she is in love with her father). This makes it easier to understand the types, although in my case, my mom spanned...

Why bother?
I am real sorry that Cohen felt the market needed another "My Family Stinks" book. I guess she wanted to be that greatest of people: the Published Author. Congratulations Susan.

This book is fantastic - it shows the types of impossible moms in the context of a woman's lifespan - from infancy to adulthood (for instance, the "seductress" type of mother is the topic of the chapter of the time of the daughter's life when she is in love with her father). This makes it easier to understand the types, although in my case, my mom spanned many types and many ages of my life! This book gave me a lot of insight into how and why my mom and I act the way we do, both with and without each other. A very worthwhile read - I could barely put it down!
