More About the Author

I love music, poetry, photography, beading and writing.... being with my BELOVED and my friends...my three beautiful and talented children, Scott, Chris and Michelle... my two golden retrievers: Lexie and Sami...my five grandsons - Ian, Preston, Randy, Mason and Dylan. I enjoy learning and growing... experiencing LIFE to the fullest and making a difference in little ways.

As long as I can remember, I have loved music, nature, and sunshine. My Grandpa loved me like I was an angel. When he died I felt lost and alone. I thought death was the end of life. I searched for truth in so many different churches who all taught that they were right and every other denomination was wrong which never felt good to me. Somehow I knew that Jesus was more than they were portraying him being. I found God in nature and in love. The God I knew was not the judgmental, angry God all the churches talked about, but a loving, adoring God that my Grandpa Ira had showed me through his love.

I continue to write about my experiences and love interviewing beautiful people from around the world on my Internet radio show, THE ANGEL FINGERPRINTS SHOW.... people who are leaving their own unique "angel fingerprints" on our world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Midwest Book Review - enlightenment, a treasure, February 11, 2003
This review is from: A Mother's Journey (Paperback)
Sharon Kay has traced one woman's path through life with loving details and amazing insights. The revelations found within the covers of this book were nothing short of amazing.

Norah Mason marries young after growing to young womanhood in a family ruled by a father who is something less than pleasant. Her husband Mike is supportive, kind, the sort of breadwinner women hope for. Their life together through the years is filled with happiness and sorrow, struggle and joy. Nearly every reader, male or female, will relate to their experiences. Four children come along. Life isn't always easy, but Norah toughs it out through troubled times the way she thinks is right. And then, with children half grown, along comes spiritual enlightenment.

Like the author says in quotes, "The fastest way to Spirtual Enlightenment is a nervous breakdown." Norah battles depression, anxiety, anger, bitterness, and a lack of joy that permeates her life. Changes are in order. Norah faces difficult truths about herself, truths that have been hidden all her life and taken a toll on her well being. Her journey to peace and acceptance of herself is taken one incremental step at a time until she triumphs. The reader travels with her on this journey, and learns a thing or two along the way.

This was a wonderful book. Uplifting, enlightening and joyous despite the troubles Norah faces. Anyone who wishes to learn more about life and love, will find a treasure in A Mother's Journey.

4.0 out of 5 stars no ordinary book of easy answers, July 10, 2008
No ordinary book of upbeat platitudes, A Mother's Journey touches all mothers - all people - who have lived, loved, and grown through apparently insurmountable adversity with the balance of radiant joys. Sharon Kay carries us along her path of choices from her youth, struggling to deal with the precipitations of an alcoholic father, her resulting fears of abandonment and personal weaknesses, her questions about her role as a wife, mother, and individual, and ultimately connects with the heart of personal creation.

Kay's openly sharing of her personal demons, anguish and guilt over choices, sweeps us into an empathic trek of development toward a serene understanding of love and life's purpose. We travel with this unique being through her confusions, weakness, and overwhelm into the light of self-awareness which has become our own during the unfolding of her tale. This moving journey of love and life bring us to the strength of accepting ourselves, for we truly do "the best we can" with the data available to us.
